The first concern of any restaurant should be taste while meeting the financial bottom line. Unfortunately, while labeled a steakhouse, the steak is rather lacking, managing to severely burn a rare's outside well beyond a tasteful searing. The rub was burned badly in the process, and the fried squash was treated similarly. The roll was a mass-produced standard roll with prepackaged margarine.
The second concern is customer service at which they excelled. The two waiters that served were impeccable. The only stars earned in this review came from them.
The third concern of any restaurant is atmosphere. The atmosphere is a hellish audioscape. I have been in bad places before, but not as this. Firstly, generic "country", term applied loosely, music, unmixed by the way, blasting from every speaker inside a tiled room with a tin ceiling. Every diner must shout in order to be heard by their fellow diners, causing a catastrophic cacaphony of pure bubbling, muckling din. The fellow at the next table grew so tired of the racket, he turned on a sports podcast, which added to the noise. Within this decibellic framework, the tables are covered in paid advertisement, the income of which certainly did not go to grill-training, and kitschy, tacky, slogan billboards adorn every wall. If one was blind, tasteless, and deaf, this restaurant could appeal.
Without blinders, earplugs, and a lack of taste-buds, I cannot recommend this place. Good customer...
Read moreWent yesterday for dinner, I had heard great things about this place and decided to try it. Family was visiting me from out of town since I'm here for work for a couple of months. Our server was... so unattentive. The one time we flagged her down she just threw the napkins on the table. Other than that, she never stopped once to check on us. We sat there for a good while so I observed. Maybe the fact that we are Hispanics was the issue. Because she spent time with other guests talking and smiling. Food, those wings were horrible, and cheese sticks were not even cooked all the way. Couldn't tell med rare from medium. Just a bloody mess. The only thing we all enjoyed was the Baked Potato. Fresh, hot and loaded. The corn, I've never seen brownish corn in my life. Last bu5 not least, that cashier. After all the disappointment, and waiting for someone to close me out she finally comes and asks: you ok? I responded with a short "yup". Did not leave a tip and we all left, just so I can get to my hotel room and threw up in the restroom. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but when it was all across, I just have to. Throwing up after paying a tab...
Read moreFirst time here in Big Springs and my husband and I were looking for a good steak to enjoy and saw the reviews and thought we would try it out. Sadly, not sure if the cook changes or not but, we did not get to enjoy a delicious steak at all. We we're seated about 5 mins after arriving and then took another 15 min before our server showed up to take our drink orders. Of course she showed up after taking the order of another table that had just been seated, mind you we had already been seated and waiting. Food took awhile but its to be expected for steak, however when we recieved our food we were not happy. It seemed that our steaks had only been seasoned after they were cooked because only the top layer of the steak actually had flavor the rest was bland. We ordered them medium rare and got medium instead no pink or blood what so ever. I got the mashed potatoes with the white gravy and everything was extremely salty and the gravy was extremely peppery to the point of it being spicy. The bread roll was delicious and probably the only good thing we had. Like I said not sure if they have different cooks but we were not impressed...
