We visited on a Thursday around noon time for lunch after visiting the southwest virginia museum historic state park. There were maybe 2 or 3 other groups of people while we were there waiting for take out. There was plenty of parking outside.
The atmosphere was very welcoming, and the 3 staff we interacted with were super pleasant to talk to and very helpful. The restaurant interior was decivingly small from the outside but huge on the inside. There was an area for live music in the back but no one was playing when we visited. There were a couple of claw machines at the front, along with a ton of plants and a guestbook to sign. They also seemed to have some local artisan items for sale, like prints and earrings. My wife did pick a few earrings up.
There were 5 of us, and we ordered the monthly special Thanksgiving Pizza. We were all super skeptical but wanted to try it. Everyone said it's exactly what you think it would taste like and amazing. We also ordered the chicken bacon ranch sub and cheesesteak sandwich to share. One kid said cheesesteak was better and other said chicken bacon ranch sub. I'd say both are a win. Wife wanted salad and order the chef salad, I believe, and it was a great portion for the price and freshly made and delicious. Our youngest kid, who is 9 and not very adventurous, got a kids meal cheese pizza and ate all of it.
The online ordering was having issues accepting our payment, but we were so close anyways we just walked in and got it taken care of. The food took maybe 15-20 mins, but you knew it was all being made fresh in their open kitchen. We all thought the food was great and for the price had good value. We would definitely stop by again if we...
Read moreI ordered a vegan pizza to go, and then sat at the bar with my wife while it was being made. Ordered a Jack and Coke, and my wife had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The owner came and talked to us for a while and it was really great conversation. She mentioned that they may add a hand-stretched option for the pizza dough, which I would definitely recommend trying if they end up offering it. I really liked everything about the place, warm and inviting, really clean and slightly eclectic. I felt right at home. By the by, when I got around to eating the pizza about an hour after leaving, it was still warm and really delicious. Nothing compares to a pizza cooked in a...
Read moreI have loved Coal Fired Pizza. Ever since I discovered it on vacation in Treasure Island, Florida 20 years ago, but living in Johnson City I only got it on vacation. So yesterday I was wanting coal fired pizza so I looked up the nearest Coal fired to my location in Johnson City and Good Times came up. I jumped in the car with my daughter and we drove the Hour and 15 minutes to try it out. We were not disappointed this is even better than the place In Florida. I will defiantly be back. I only have one selfish complaint and that is its not in Johnson City so I will only be able to get it on a limited basis. Could you please open a second...
