Well, this place is just a fantastic place to go for friendly staff, great drinks, and a generous, delicious & satisfying meal, regardless of your menu selection.
On this visit, I was treating an old friend to whom I owe my very life...TWICE!!! (It's all in my book: "Hurricane Katrina-One Man's Defining Moment of Reference"; Amazon, Google Play, B&N, Kindle & everywhere else đ), so I told him to order anything he wanted, as this was also his first visit. After he looked over the menu, he said with a laugh that he was just too hungry to make a choice. So I took it from there...
I set the pace by ordering "Queso Blanca", "Guacamole" AND and two orders of "Cevicé" as our starters to have with the chips & salsa that are always provided on the house, freshly made and still warm.
Our server quickly arrived back at our table with a very big tray of food that was, surprisingly, all for us. One order of the cevicé, split between the two of us, would have been more than enough to serve as a generous appetizer, for sure! So, yeah, the table was beginning to take on the appearance of a medieval feast in honor of a king...and we certainly were still hungry so I suppose we were conjuring our own FEAST, not just having a great meal!
Next, I ordered "Carné Asada" and he ordered the "Churrasco", which, I have to say, were both absolutely awesome. We each took a cursory taste of our respective dish and commented in what was an hilarious, and nearly a word-for-word6synchronicity nearly identical adjectives were freely offered almost as soon as the food hit our buds! And, as a matter of "full disclosure", we decided to split each of our entrées with one another because each one of us wanted to know if both dishes were equally delicious...oh yes, they were both off the chart with flavor bursting with each bite.
WHAT...are you actually CRAZY?!? No! We most certainly did NOT order dessert after gorging ourselves on all of that delicious, and very generously apportioned, cuisine. But seriously, I wanted to order dessert but was unable to convince my buddy that we wouldn't explode in a similar fashion as was depicted in a scene of a classic Monty Python movie (Don't recall the title bu fuuuuunneeeee!), in which the man ate an enormous amount of food and, when he indicated that his gargantuan appetite had been absolutely sated, his waiter onsisted that since ge was not able to partake in dessert, his server insisted that he accept an "After Eight" chocolate mint. The monstrously massive mountain of manly marvel (sorry, every once in a while I get the impulse to illiterate and I have to comply or be aggravated all day for letting a little inspiration get past me without acknowledgement...I guess its an "author thing"đđ€Ș)
Anyway, I suppose its obvious that I really like this place! HOGHLY recommend it anytime you are near Cedar Lake & Popps...
Read moreWishing that I could give this restaurant a zero rating only because of our disgusting and super negative experience. The food was actually decent but being treated poorly by the staff is what counts the most here. Our experience from walking in the door and not seeing a single person that works here was a turn off or even the experience with being argued with by the server about my 15.99 margarita not having any alcohol in it. I drink strawberry margaritas at every Mexican restaurant I go to and 100% there was seriously ZERO alcohol in it. Why not try to make the customer happy and offer to re make the drink? I also asked for salt on the rim when I ordered it, but when it came out it had sugar on it so obvisously mistakes happen. We got our food very fast which was good since the restaurant was pretty empty, but once we got our food we never saw our server again until I walked over to another server and said âWe were ready to go and hadnât seen our server since we got our foodâ. That server dismissed what I said and instead he just looked at me. I walked back to my table. Poor attitude! We finally paid our bill and ordered a quick desert to go, the desert came out and when we opened up the to go box it was not what we ordered so we left it on the table. We paid for the desert and we decided we were just gonna leave. The male server that was dismissive to me, chaced outside after us and actually had the nerve to say to us that we left the desert âbecause of the margaritasâ. My friend told him the reason we left that nasty desert on the table and for him to say that was absolutely uncalled for. When calling to speak to a manager I was hung up on. No surprise there. Just to be clear, I am a 15 year customer service expert and I have never been so upset leaving a service oriented place. My girlfriends and I are on a fun weekend away from our husbands and children and I am super disappointed in this...
Read moreHorrible experience, horrible service and horrible food. We have always been pleased with service and quality of food at the Gulfport Ms location. This was our 1st and last visit to the Biloxi MS restaurant. We were seated promptly, it took 15 minutes before a server came to our table just to say " give me 2 minutes, I'll be right back ". After 10 minutes we told the manager that we had not been asked or ordered anything to drink or place our food orders because our server never returned. Manager took our drink orders and brought them to the table a few minutes later the server appears and took our food orders. 2 of our party ordered the same thing F - combination dinner. We both knew that something was bad in the tamales, but it took a few bites before you could tell because the sauce was covering them and masking the taste. These were beyond spoiled, I don't know what they served but it was not a tamale, spoiled dog food or worse. We told our server he said he would tell the manager. Well we went to pay the bill and leave and it was the manager at the register so we informed him about the tamales and that no one should be served them. His response was that the restaurant doesn't make them. He could care less and he showed it he was rude from the beginning until the very end there's no way he'd ever worked in my business. On the way back to her home we decided to call the other Elsa tio and try to speak to Mr George we got his son we explained the situation his son said that he would call us back we never received a phone call back the reason why I'm posting this now is I just got released from garden Park very ill do the food poisoning due to those tamales stay away from El Saltillo especially that location it's no good it was horrible experience horrible food and the owner should keep their word if they say they're going to call someone back...
