I have never written a review on here, let alone a bad one, but Slim Chicken was an exceptional, one-of-a-kind experience that deserved recognition of its own.
I had a long, back-aching day of hard, manual labor. Perusing dinner options in the area, I decided on Slim Chicken because it was new and specialized in fried chicken, the esteemed food of the working class. I ordered a Chicken Club Sandwich Meal. I don't know what the hell kind of club that club sandwich came from, but it should be shut down. If it weren't for the almost excessive amount of ranch acting as embalming fluid, I would've thought that I had COVID because of the lack of flavor in that sandwich, sans the lettuce. The root beer was so diluted I felt like I was at a professional baseball game. $12 for a miniature chicken sandwich (attached pic) and some brown ice water is absurd, to say the least. Arizona iced teas been costing 99¢ since I was born, and church plates are free. At least the folks at the House of the Lord can sing and dance. For $12 I might as well be getting a front row seat to a Broadway performance. The fries had a weird, crunchy on the outside gooey on the inside, consistency that belongs to a cookie, not a french fry. Accompanying this incredibly greasy food were a total of zero napkins in the bag.
If it weren't for this fabulously disappointing experience after the long day I had, I would give two stars. At least the building looked nice. My compliments to the contractor. Slim Pickins would be a wonderful location for a class of people looking to spend an unreasonable amount of money on mediocre food. I do not belong in that caste. Do yourself a favor and head to the Raising Cane's off Exit 32 on I10 or on Biloxi Beach. Their root beer is, bar none, the best of any fast food franchise, and even their smallest meal option will leave you satiated with some fries and...
Read moreWe live in the area and watched as this place was being built from the time they broke ground to when they opened. I was excited to finally try their food. After my experience with their service and food I have to give them three stars. Not because of the quality of the food, but the quality of the service. I work in the hospitality/entertainment industry, so I know a thing or two about customer service. When we arrived, the employee working in our drive-through line obviously did not want to be there and couldn't care less about giving us a positive experience. When we received our food several things were wrong, such as my wife ordering a spinach wrap but getting a jalapeno wrap, and she hates jalapeno. Also, my order did not come with any of the sauces that I requested. So it is obvious that not only the person working the drive-through line didn't care, but the people making the food didn't care enough to pay attention to the order requests either. Outside of that, the food we did receive was pretty good. I will try them again in the future because the food was good, and I try my best not to hold the actions of a few employees against the company. However, those who are not as understanding as I am about customer service and employment related issues would most definitely have been turned away by the experience and would never return. If they can work through those issues then I think they will have a pretty...
Read moreCame here for the first time today. After ordering, an employee came out to collect my payment. They never looked at anything to check the amount owed, before telling me "16.32"
I was told at drive-thru 13.62, so I had to get more money out of my wallet.
They came back with change and receipt and said, "Oh, it was 13.62 afterall" and handed me 3 dollars and change. Well, the amount listed on the receipt for how much I gave the employee was incorrect, because it listed $15. Obviously, I gave more than 15 because the amount I was told to pay was 16.32. I actually thought I gave the employee $20. But what proof does a customer have when employees are not inputting it at the collection point, and trying to use their memory of what the total is as they walk back into the store to put in a number they hopefully get right. By the time they get to the register, they have forgot these numbers.
There was just one customer in front of me, but that's so irrelevant.
Why does this restaurant chain feel it makes sense to have an employee come out to a vehicle to collect payment AND not check a printed or digital order with the owed fee on it BEFORE taking my money. AND WHY give me a receipt showing I gave less money than I did.
This isn't directly an employees fault, it's managements' for allowing these practices. You're just asking for trouble by being...
