This was our first time ordering from this place and most likely to be our last due to the rudeness of the employee answering the phone. A family member who is not from the area ordered a pizza for my nephews and the employee mentioned we had apartments accross the street to the family member which is not the case. So in wanting to ensure that the pizza was delivered to the right place I called to make sure they knew where we were per the address they were given. I understand they are a business and busy. I also understand Birch Run is not that big of a place. There however are two different roads very close spelling to ours! I also wanted to tell them to use a certain door as the front door has a ramp that gets quite slippery on rainy days. I didnt however get a chance because I was so caught off gaurd the way the employee who answered the phone was being sort of rude right off rip. I explained a family member ordered it and I was confused about the apartments because the closest ones are accross Birch Run Rd. She cut me off rudely and said We know where you are the apartments are right there on Birch Run Rd. Well ma'am that is not right accross the street. I then apologized more than once for interupting her day. She could have simply explained oh Im sorry there was a misunderstanding but we are aware of where you are. Not rude and short. Im not impressed and we will just continue going to...
Read moreI ordered a pizza and some chicken wings for delivery. I asked them if they were busy, thinking if they were, I'd go pick-up my order in person. But they said they were not busy, and to expect delivery within 25 minutes. And so I waited. And waited. I called to check. "Oh it's coming," they said. So I waited some more. 55 minutes after placing my order I called again to cancel it. But the lady said, "Oh they are loading the car now, he will be right there." 20 minutes later the delivery guy showed up. I explained my dissatisfaction with having had to wait so long. He became extremely rude, denying such a thing would occur, indicating he had four other deliveries before mine. WHAT! After paying, we took the pizza and wings into the house and opened them up. It was totally, totally horrible. It was very clear it was prepared upon ordered but left in a warmer, atop an oven, or someplace hot while other delivery orders were being prepared so they could make one large trip. The pizza was not edible. Crusty, crispy, tried out, with the bottom of the crust heavily burnt. The wings were so extremely crispy dried, we could not bite through them. Unfortunately, this was not our first bad experience with food from Goal Post, but I have wanted to support local independent businesses. However I am now done with Goal Post Pizza. ...
Read moreWe had a few hours before picking up a family member in the area and a craving for pizza. We found Goal Post with a Google search and decided to give it a try since it wasn't a chain restaurant.
Upon first entering, we noticed that the decor was minimalistic. It felt similar to going to my friend's house and sitting down in his family kitchen. A very kind young lady greeted us. We each ordered a small pizza with our favorite toppings.
When the pizza arrived and we took the first bite, we found where Goal Post's priorities were. Quality pizza is the name of the game.
The crust was perfect and clearly made from scratch and hand-tossed. The crust had the perfect amount of crunch on the bottom and edges and was soft and fluffy in the middle. The sauce had a great flavor with the perfect amount of seasoning without being too sweet or spicy. Toppings were made with fresh ingredients and covered the pie evenly. They use a quality cheese that is melted perfectly and has just the right amount of stretch.
Overall, this was a quality pie that you would expect to find in a much "fancier" place, but at a family-friendly price. I highly recommend giving it a try. I plan to try them again the next time we are in the area. Highly...
