This review is specifically for the Birch Run Michigan Starbucks. Right now, I'm done with this Starbucks after years and years of consistently getting a drink there day upon day. But something has happened and now it's hit and miss (almost always miss lately) on whether ANYONE working there knows the actual difference between a latte which I won't drink and a cappuccino which I try hard to buy. Today I went through the line twice and threw both drinks out the car window onto the grass (far from people, no mess on the parking lot). Two things happen -- 1) a cappuccino and a latte are the very same drinks to many employees which means a place that specializes in this sort of thing cannot train staff on how to do both drinks consistently. or 2) Some of the baristas think all you have to do is dump some foam on it and you have yourself a cappuccino. When anyone who knows the difference knows that you can tell it's a latte when you pick it up and it feels like you have a full cup of milk. THAT's a latte. Foam or no foam, the weight is what tells you the whole thing is wrong. I've had a couple good baristas there tell me, "You aren't going to like this" by feeling the weight and having them re-make it right. So someone knows but mostly people working there now don't know. If it's light and the first thing you taste is a strong espresso flavor, not all that much milk at all, and topped off with some foam (but not a cup full) -- that's a cappuccino. This isn't an odd drink. I don't want it made in an odd way. I just want a freaking consistent cappuccino.When it's to the point that you dread having them hand you your drink because odds are it's going to be a latte (which I hate) -- then it's time to buy coffee somewhere else. By the love of all that is holy, can you guys please train your baristas to make one of the most common, basic coffee house drinks. I'll wait a couple months and try again just in case someone reads these.
So I have one point overall for not being able to make the only drink I want. No points on food because I'm really coming for that drink you can't make. 5 points on service because you have lots of nice people working there even if they can't make a cappuccino. Obviously it's the terrible training. And the atmosphere is my car so . . . there we are. Once upon a time, I got a great cappuccino for years day after day. Those days...
Read moreWe were traveling home on 11/26/23 after a weekend in Frankenmuth. We did a mobile order to pick up on our way out of town. We sat in the drive thru line for about 15 min. Got to the window and was told there were two other mobile orders still ahead of us and that it would be another 20-25 min. We could go back in line or park and come into the store and wait. They couldn’t make our drinks ahead of anyone else’s mobile orders even though we were there to pick up and the others weren’t. We didn’t have 25 min to wait that’s why we did a mobile order for pickup on the way out of town. We were also told we could cancel the order get back in the drive up line and order through the speaker or come into the store and order at the counter. Guess I really don’t understand why our drinks couldn’t have been made on our mobile order but could be made if we ordered another way. I’ve never had that happen ever at any Starbucks. I will never stop at this one again when I’m in town. She couldn’t even refund on the app she gave a gift card which was fine. I’ll use somewhere else. I get they may have been short staffed but I did what was expected of me and placed my order ahead of time and waited my due diligence in the drive up line only to leave with out my drinks on a four hour drive home....
Read moreBirch Run location: We placed an order using the app. We got into line there were a few cars in front of us. We pull up to the speaker and let them know ours was ordered using the app they say pull up. So we are now 2 cars away from the window, when we get to the window they tell us our ordered isn't ready because it was an online order and they fill the orders of on-site first or some thing like that, she was mumbling and looking behind her like she didn't know really what to say. So I said hum okay well there was 2 cars in front of us who got their orders and so why didn't ours get made? She said yeah can u drive around again. I said how about I sit here and we get our stuff. She wouldn't do it made me drive around again so now I'm back behind the car that was next after me basically it was pointless to drive around again. We get to the window and our order was wrong. We were so annoyed we just took the wrong order threw it away after leaving and decided never to go back there after the horrible service, poor customer service and incorrect order. Personally I'd say AVOID going to that location. Oh and our order was 2 pink drinks...
