We have been to Freddy’s several times, but this is the first time that I am rating them. Usually, I’ve been very pleased, but today I had a bad experience. I was in the mood for a grilled chicken sandwich. Going through the drive-through with a quick look at the menu board I only saw a Grill Chicken Club which has bacon and cheese that I didn’t want. So when I drove up to the ordering location, I asked the attendant if she had a plain grill chicken sandwich. She said she did so I replied, “Okay, that’s what I want and a small Diet Coke. The answer I got was, “Will Pepsi be okay?” to which I replied, “No, just water will be fine.” I think at that point the attendant stated the price and instructions to drive around, but if she provided the charge itwas gargled by the speaker.
When I got to the window, I’m handed her my credit card and she eventually handed me a small cup of water and a paper bag containing the food I ordered. I found parking spot where I intended to eat in my car. In the bag was a sandwich and a small order of what looked like shoestring fries that I didn’t order. The sandwich turned out to be their Grill Chicken Club complete with bacon and cheese. That time I figured, well it’s just a misunderstanding and I’ll make do. I removed the bacon from the sandwich. It turned out to be three thin half strips that were mostly fat. It would’ve been almost impossible to remove the melted cheese, so I just left it on the sandwich and ate it. it turned out to be a very good sandwich, though it had a little bit too much mayonnaise. I figured since they also gave me the fries, I ate them as well and they turned out to be real good.
My problem with the whole experience was when I got home I belatedly check the receipts and found out that I had been charged $11.87 for a Grill Chicken Club Combo which, according to the receipt, consisted of the sandwich, the fries, and a cup of water. But let me be clear be clear, neither the word “combo” nor the word “fries” were ever spoken during my conversation with the attendant. And I never expected to have pay for water at a restaurant.
As I said, I’ve eaten at Freddy’s before and always in the past I have had a good experiences. I have enjoyed their hamburgers onion rings and the today’s grilled chicken sandwich and even the fries were very good. That’s the only reason why I’m not rating Freddy’s with a much lower mark, even with my bad...
Read more"Freddy's" is a relatively new experience to me. But one that I like we'll enough to have returned over and over these part few months. Let me say 1st, that I don't go there for the "Custard", for me it's all about their"Smash Burgers" and Onion Rings! I usually get their #1 Double Cheese Burger Combo. And I'm not a big fan of their French Fries, too skinny for me! So I order their delicious Onion Rings instead.
Let's talk pickles... most of us are familiar with "Dill Pickle Slices", with that being Slices, roughly, the size and shape of the US Quarter coin (diameter and thickness varies). Freddy's, Slices their pickles lengthwise, producing "Pickle Planks." A pickle is a pickle, right? Not necessarily so. When pickles are sliced lengthwise, from top to bottom, then with each bite, you may be getting more of the pickle "rind" per bite, which will alter, slightly, the "Rind/meat Ratio, thusly changing the flavor somewhat. At the very least, when you bite a round pickle slice, chances are, that whole slice is going into your mouth, BUT with "Pickle Planks", they are quite long enough to cover your burger from side to side, thereby increasing the chance of NOT biting completely through your pickle(s) and the resultant likelihood of you dragging a bunch of "Pickle Planks" out of your burger, only to have them hang down below your chin AT the exact point in time that the cure girl you were hoping would look your way so you could "smile her up, LOOKS, and there you sit, with "Pickle Plank Mouth Syndrome".
Other than the skinny fries and the "Pickle Planks," I have had no other negative experiences. AND their Smash Burgers are delicious! Quickly becoming one of my favorite "go-to's" when the Burger Cravings...
Read moreWalked in almost 30 minutes before closing on a Thursday night and was greeted by the friendliest lady ever. I didn't know what to order, had never been or tried it, so I went with the #1, a double cheeseburger, and added lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and ketchup, no mustard with fries and a turtle concrete (made with chocolate custard instead of vanilla) in place of a drink. No one was angry I was there, I was trying to hurry bc I know they wanted to go home, like anyone else would that close to closing time, but they were all very kind. The entire staff. Customer service is huge to me bc I treat people the way I would like to be treated, and they are on their game here. My food was delicious. I got it home and loved every single bite. ❤️ The concrete is delicious. I've never had custard before and that was awesome. It was perfectly made. I wish I had gotten the lady's name behind the counter bc she made the whole trip an experience. She said she works nights, she would see my face again, and she is most definitely right. Every single person there was courteous and polite. The cook takes his job seriously and it shows in the food. It was amazing for fast food. Prices are very reasonable and this location has fantastic service. 👏 I hope someone from the night crew sees this, bc y'all are great. I've never gotten this experience anywhere else. Worth every penny....
