Empty on a Saturday evening when everything else is busy. So interesting to walk into a sushi (Japanese) restaurant and only Latinos are staffing it. That was a first, but maybe it’s common in Alabama.

The interior is worn. The menus were worn and dirty, though the album cover menu design was probably very cool when they first opened & the menus looked nice.

The crab appetizer was small but good.

The sushi rolls pretty much all contain shrimp tempura. That made our decisions difficult since we wanted to try different rolls but it essentially came down to “which shrimp tempura roll should we get?”

The rolls were above average but again - they lacked variety. They were rolled well and the rice was above average. The food tastes better than grocery store sushi.

I might return for takeout but wouldn’t eat in since it didn’t feel as clean as it could’ve been. Fresh menus (ones that are not peeling and that do not have visible food residue on them) would be a big...

Today, I decided to use my living social voucher and try out the restaurant. The restaurant was very clean. I was told that I could sit anywhere in the restaurant. I told the waiter before taking my order that I had a living social voucher and the waiter attitude changed quickly. I told the waiter that my order was to go and he informed me that I had to do dine in with my voucher. I explained to the waiter that I did not see on the voucher were it said dine in only and he got very rude with me and said, you want me to call my manager and I said no. I looked over the menu and ordered my food. I was never asked what I wanted to drink, I was just giving water. I was never asked if, I needed anything else or if, everything was ok. I will never go back there again. The waiter acted as if, I was asking him to give me something free. I paid for this voucher and felt like I should have received ok service so, I would want to...

I am extremely disappointed in management here! I came in around 8:48pm and was ready to order my Togo at 8:53pm, yet when I go to place my order the server wants to get my food in but the manager stops her saying how we stoped serving and doing Togo food at 8:45pm. Now my biggest concern was why are the doors still open and why do the store hours say closing time at 9pm if you can no longer be served at 8:45?? Make it make sense, I’m so frustrated and dissatisfied with the way things went down, I can understand it being late but however that does not justify turning around a good paying customer because it’s closer to close time. I saw everyone closing stations down but that’s not how it works you close stations down after you close not during regular...

Sushi was ok- average. The bill was $7 over my checkout price on the app to order takeout. Tax was already included online. So they charge you a separate “tip” for carry out- almost 20%. On the door of the restaurant it said they add 10% to orders. False advertising!!!! Also, I was about 10 minutes late picking it up- had to wait an extra 10 minutes because they forgot part of my order. 5 people in the restaurant when I was there 🤷‍♀️ I think I will go back to my local sushi haunt not far away. If you haven’t tried Nori yet, you should! Below is my receipt from online order vs. in store.

The Birmingham location is large and spacious and we fit right in with our double stroller! The server was very nice and accommodating. The food, as usual, was amazing. We went with the crab wontons, vip roll, the Jailhouse Roll, and the British Invasion roll. We also had the steak hibachi. The crab wontons are a must in case you ever question whether they will be good; perfectly crispy, delicious filling and the spicy Mayo compliments them very well. The only thing we have not been liking is the ginger salad. The dressing could use some work but if you like soup it’s a good alternative.

There is not even one thing I could say about this place other than fantastic! Service was fun, informative and very friendly. Food... every single piece of food I out in my mouth was absolutely delicious and cooked or prepared to perfection. I was very surprised and highly pleased. We have already told our foodie friends and will continue. We will see you again soon! Thanks for going above and beyond guys. You're awesome!
