the food is decent, and jordan the bartender is absolutely phenomenal. she always makes my husband and i feel welcome and at home, and she's just the sweetest. but my frustration comes in with today's visit. sunday is obviously going to be busy at every restaurant, especially breakfast places. and today was no exception! but we noticed open tables all along the patio seating. and there wasn't an exceptionally large wait. there was maybe one person in the waiting area. two parties in front of us, a three and a two, were both seated immediately. one of which was sat outside. when she came back, i asked if we could sit outside. now, just a few minutes before she OFFERED to let the party of three sit outside, which tells me that they weren't actually on the "hour wait". if they WERE on the wait, there wouldn't be an option between seating, they'd get whatever table was available lol. so that was a lie. and then she tells us the "oh it's an hour wait and there's no guarantee we can get you in before three (closing)." so she was basically telling us to leave. and then when we called to complain to management, she was just qualifying everything that happened by saying she wasn't running the floor and didn't know what was happening, and when she came back from putting us on hold she just said what the host said but nicer. she offered us a free meal but that's not the point. the point is that we were wronged and the issue wasn't REALLY addressed. we were just kind of gushed and offered free food, like that fixes discrimination. won't be returning probably, but if you still decide to go, make sure you sit with jordan. she's amazing, and i like to think she's the only thing holding this...

Flying Biscuit

Start of Labor Day weekend, brunch out. Long drive, lots of small errands , prep etc., but start the day right !

Waffle, peaches & cream anglaise is phenomenal. Pair it with a mimosa or a cappuccino.

Wonderful grits. They call them dreamy for a reason!

Great coffee & expresso, this is well made, coffee it is aromatic. Incredible sides. Fried green tomatoes are luscious, I am so particular for this dish, such a favorite. I rarely say how much I love them. Nailed it, 💯. Especially on a Friday family brunch .

Eggs perfect over medium, which is always difficult to have on point. Steak, excellent sirloin. Burger really delivers.

Everything is fresh! Fresh & clean & plentiful & so bright & pleasant.

Waitstaff are all interactive, kind, attentive to needs.

Location to all colleges nearby is awesome. Samford, take note, this is a brunch delight for all the college kids' moms! Dad has the portions that please & Mom has variety & food quality, which is so difficult to impress 💗

This is authentically beautiful food! Bring your sorority sisters, your Bible group, your cousins, that difficult to please family member everyone will enjoy it.

Ask for John, he was a great server & the flying biscuit should not lose front of the house that manages to handle tables so well! (I generally focus on the food, but husband was so impressed by the front of house staff & I am reminded that it takes both sides for final product delivery to be that quintessential memory)

Breakfast & brunch are hard to deliver, so many beautiful, well designed plates that are southern low country classics, come sit & have a...

UPDATE: I went here on a Sunday morning and there was only about a 20 minute wait for 2 people at 11am. The hostess staff were prompt and friendly. The environment here was SO friendly and cute. I loved the sunflowers on the walls. We were seated outside, which was our stated preference, and there was a live musician playing. The music wasn’t too loud either where we were on the corner. He was taking song requests and he did his best at attempting “Friday I’m in love” by The Cure. At the table, we got the stuffed french toast, the hangover hash, and the NY strip with eggs. I also got a hazelnut iced latte, which tasted delicious! I typically like to be able to taste my coffee, but that morning I enjoyed a super sweet treat. The french toast was delicious, very large and had tasty sauces with it. The hangover hash was AMAZING! The chicken chorizo with the queso and fried chicken pieces, TOP NOTCH! The steak was cooked perfectly and was served with the creamiest grits. John was our server and he was very complimentary and on top of it! We really enjoyed his service. Overall, I would definitely come back here!!

PAST: DoorDash isn’t as good as getting it...

We went here at lunch time and it was pack, which for a new restaurant I take as a great sign. Even with how busy it was, we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. The food was really good. My husband and I both got the French Toast which has a really delicious raspberry sauce! 😋 Our breakfast also came with grits, and I can tell you as someone who doesn't like grits at all, these were cheesy and delicious!! I would definitely eat them again. They have a kids menu which had a few of breakfast options and a couple of lunch options. My child got the pancakes and seemed to be happy with them. The service was really good as well. Since our food was taking a little time to come out so our waitress brought us some of their signature biscuits and jam! Really nice touch. They were awesome! They were light and fluffy. There's a small bar for those that want a cocktail. My only negative was that eventhough they have an outside seating area, they didn't have anyone to service us outside, so we weren't able to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Hopefully, they will add outside services in the future. Overall great food and service and we'll be back soon! 😋😋
