Walking down the road to the restaurant, your attention is immediately captured by the intoxicating aroma that is Fireflour. It is small in size, but don't be misled by that. As you open the door, the smell wafts over you wrapping you in a pizza heaven! I seriously wish I could bottle that smell! The staff was amazingly friendly. We enjoyed the conversations we shared with them and their character. We had the olives, which I didn't photograph but, they were hands down the best olives we've ever had! They still have the pits in them so be diligent when biting in. As for the pizza, it is thin crust but not overly crispy. It still chewy and soft with the perfect amount of crunch. The flavor is what you search for in every slice you bite into. It's tangy, savory, robust, and tantalizing. We got a white pizza and a red pizza (only photographed the red, silly me!) We regret nothing. They were both phenomenal. It's a 3.5 hour drive to Bismarck from where we live but it's worth the drive to be able to enjoy a pie or two from here again. 10 out of 10 we fully recommend!

I eat a lot of Neapolitan pizza living in NYC and travel frequently to Rome and Milan. I have had some of the best of Italy and NYC…and I must say, Fireflour is ON FIRE! The non-GMO crust was fantastically fire-roasted; the was pesto divine; the arugula fresh and crisp & prosciutto—perfect! Who would think that in Bismarck you would find NYC-level pizza? (NO disrespect intended). If you have read the “The 22 Best Pizza Places in New York Right Now” in NYTimes published May 22, 2025 a review of a Queens-based pizza joint is noted. As a neighbor of the Queens shop, I can tell you Fireflour Pizzeria destroys D’s. Bismarkians! Pay attention to 111 N 5th Street. And ask for Kelly; her hospitality is tops! Friendly. Personal. Professional. Oh, and the mango and strawberry sorbetto is SUPERB! I’ll be back for more of it all. Complementi, Fireflour!

Really enjoyed finding this neopolitan style pizza place in Bismarck (so named to encourage German investment, who knew!). I had a miel coffee from the shop next door and the seasonal, Ono pizza. I looked up several ingredients on the internet so I could figure out what everything was (pineapple, basil, white sauce, spicy Italian peppers, so fresh they made it mozzarella) but that wasn't a big deal. It was delicious and I was only just able to summon enough willpower to not eat the whole damn thing. The outdoor patio was quite nice with some light street noise in the background and a nice view of the alleyway street art in the alley next to it. There's also a brewery next door but since I don't drink anymore I can't comment on its quality.

To be fair we tried this place more than once but I would not recommend it, the first time we went the pizza was a bit overcooked but not bad, the second time we went was horrible. The waitress was much more concerned with talking with the people at one of the tables than seating us, even after waiting for a few minutes a coworker pointed out to her that we were waiting and she ignored them. Once we were finally seated we ordered a flight of beer and our pizzas, at this point the restaurant was pretty much empty, took a while for the food to come and still no drinks even after we got our food. Pizza was soggy this time, then when she finally brought our flight of beer she spilled it all over the table, instead of getting a new flight she just took the two napkins we had and half heartedly gave it a little wipe. She said she’d be right back with more napkins but instead she started to get into a heated discussion with her coworker which elevated to her swearing every two seconds and raising her voice at her coworker. So now we’re left with a wet table, greasy soggy pizza, no napkins and had to listen to her yelling and swearing. I’d be embarrassed to have an employee...

First, some things we liked: The Gelato was good The server brought us a list of their baked goods, of which there was a nice variety The pizzas were perfect for sharing between 2 people

However, the reason for the low review came from a couple different things: Initially when we came in, we asked if they had room for a large group (10). The server rolled her eyes and said we'd have to wait. We were fine with waiting, but definitely felt like an inconvenience. At that point we probably should have left, but the large pizza oven was intriguing.

The pizza ingredients sounded exotic and fun. In reality, they didn't have a lot of toppings or flavor, and once each pizza was finished, they were left on the counter until they were all done. By the time we got our pizza, it was cold.

We were accidentally given an extra pizza. While we tried to figure out whose it was, the server appeared and yanked it off the table with a scowl. Evidently it belonged at another table.

The espresso was extremely bitter. I normally enjoy an affogato, but four of us had them and we all found it very bitter.

All in all neither the service nor the food makes us want...
