I don't visit this shop but once a decade, and that's because my Red Wing boots last so long! I beat the hell out of my shoes and don't take care of them as well as I should, yet they loyally stay with me despite the abusive relationship.
As to this specific shop in downtown Bismarck, the staff I interacted with were professional, courteous, and friendly. My wife and I were so impressed with them, she opted to get her work shoes here instead of at a big box store like she usually does. We were also impressed with the wireless foot-scanning platform that the sales manager had us step onto; the resulting scan seemed more detailed than those at Scheel's with a heat map image showing pressure points, my over-pronation, her tendency to carry her weight disproportionately on her heels, and so on. The display screen provided a recommended insert for our shoes which we both found to be perfect. I think we may return to use this again for inserts in our non-Red Wing shoes too, thatās how pleased we are.
We learned, too, that this specific Red Wing store also offers shoe and boot repair. I might have to bring my old work boots in to see if they can be salvaged. Maybe Iāll get another 13 years out of them?
Their prices are a little high, but thatās standard fare for the Red Wing brand. Youāre paying for handcrafted quality, made in the USA (Minnesota if Iām not mistaken?). I can attest that these boots and shoes will last a decade or more even with hard use. I couldnāt be happier with the product and...

"Truly Thought I was going to get horrible service" Due to these youngsters nowadays. Boy, was I SO WRONG!!! This outstanding young MAN, had not only professionalism an knowledge of the product..but also passion for what he was doing. This blew me away. Just don't find that anywhere, anymore! To top it off, he wasn't even employed at the Bismarck store, he was just there to grab extra hours while home on Xmas break from Fargo! Came home to be with family. But had time to represent the brand. And he did so, better than anybody I have ever seen in all of my years in the customer service industry. The actual employees of the store, couldn't help but follow his lead, an stepped up to help him put away the 25 plus shoes that didn't fit me. This is by far the VERY BEST customer service I have EVER received in my life. These so called "kids", just gained you a "life long" loyal consumer, as well as a spokesman for the "Red Wing" Brand! Kudos! This young man deserves a very solid raise and accommodation, for his brand knowledge and loyalty. Was wearing a pair of 2 year old boots...which he was proud to brag about mind you. After almost 2hours, I walked out with a pair of the most comfortable steel toes ever!

I returned my boots to the store to see what could be done, and was told by the associate that it was ājust a cosmetic stitch and it happens all the time.ā He assured me that the boot was fine. I felt uncomfortable about my interaction with the store associate, so I checked with Red Wing and found that the stitch in question is important for the durability and water resistance of the boot. I was lied to by the store employee. When I returned to the store and told the employee I didn't appreciate his dishonesty, he insisted he did not lie to me, but was apparently just making things up because he did not know what the stitching was for (the difference being...???). I love Red Wing products; however, I will never do business with this store again. There is no excuse for how I was treated...
