Deeply Disappointed by the Unprofessionalism and Lack of Standards
Iām not typically one to write reviews, but after what I experienced on my last visit to this Chiliās location, I feel compelled to speak up. Iāve been coming to Chiliās restaurants since the late '90s, and while I understand that standards shift and staff change, there is a basic level of professionalism and decorum I expect to see maintained in any public-facing establishment especially one representing a national brand. Unfortunately, this location seems to have completely lost sight of that.
I was sitting quietly around the corner at the bar, enjoying a meal and minding my own business when I couldnāt help but overhear an incredibly inappropriate and frankly unsettling conversation happening not 10 feet away. One of the young women from the takeout area was going on and on, in detail, about an incident at her former jobin retail. She described how someone had apparently wronged her and how she didnāt hesitate to have her father physically remove them!! Then, loud enough for me to hear, I then hear something to the effect of āI'd deal with someone here too. Just send the rude customers to me.ā That is APPALLING!
Now, I donāt know if she thought this was impressive or intimidating, but speaking openly about bringing violence into the workplace is not something I take lightly. Iāve managed teams, Iāve run a business, and Iāve worked in environments where staff upheld a certain level of dignity. What I heard was not just unprofessional it was a red flag. If this is how staff speak when they think theyāre just among themselves, whatās happening when no oneās listening?
But sadly, thatās not the only concern Iāve had. On multiple occasions, Iāve observed what appear to be underage employees and I do mean they look barely out of high school, openly vaping or smoking in the KITCHEN!! Iāve even seen them hanging out, laughing and puffing away like itās a high school parking lot. Thereās no discretion, no professionalism, and clearly no supervision. Itās not just the image it gives off itās a health and safety concern. And it makes me seriously question where the management is in all of this.
Speaking of management, thatās perhaps the most troubling part. Itās not that these issues are slipping through the cracks ā itās that no one seems to care. No one is intervening. If a customer like me can spot it every other visit, surely a manager is aware. And if theyāre aware and doing nothing? That speaks volumes.
I donāt want to assume every young person working here is unprofessional. Iām sure some are trying hard and doing the best they can. But from what Iāve witnessed, the culture at this location is slipping fast. Itās chaotic, itās unchecked, and itās becoming the kind of place I no longer feel comfortable supporting.
I truly hope someone at the corporate level sees this and takes action before it gets worse. Because this isnāt just a bad shift this is a pattern. I will NOT be returning to this location. Super...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChili's, for so many, is a place to relax and unwind. A place to indulge in the greatest salivation-inducing soul-craving guilty pleasures on the west side of the Mississippi. After a long, tiresome day at work, I thought Chili's would be there for me. My expectations were high, my appetite was strong, and my parking spot was ideal. This was going to be a Chili's experience to remember. I thought to myself, "What could satisfy my sweet tooth today? I can't make a mistake. Something sweet, delicious, gourmet. Oh I know, a milkshake!" I didn't even want a meal, I knew what I needed. I called out to the waitress with joy in my heart. My eyes were full of hope and anticipation, as I struggled to mumble my desire. "I'll take a milkshake please." The waitress' expression was blank. That's when my life derailed into a shade darker than the midnight hour in the deepest cave of the Himalayas. "We don't do that here" she said, as my soul visibly snapped in two. The elation from my expectation turned to deflation and extended starvation. The fries I consumed as a depressing fallback option, could never truly fill the void left by my desire for a milkshake. I say now to anyone else seeking for a dairy-filled dessert beverage, steer clear from Chilli's. I don't want my baby back, I want my soul back. Great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. Food was rotten. Like literally rotten, there was black lettuce in our salads! Service, haha, that's a joke, there was none. We literally had to ask for EVERYTHING!!. When we complained to the very young manager with a nose ring she used the excuse that our waiter was new. My husband and boys got their food and we waited around for mine and my daughters food for over 30 minutes because they got it wrong. My daughter and I was supposed to get shrimp pasta but instead they brought out chicken pasta. Finally we asked for mine and my daughters meal to go since my boys were already done eating. We realized they left the chicken in the pasta and added undercooked shrimp in it. So needless to say we never got dinner. Thank God the manager took care of the whole meal but I will NEVER go back to this chili's not because of the bad service but because of the undercooked rotten food and also watching people in the kitchen wipe their noses on their hands and or touch their hair or scratch themselves and still touch food was absolutely disgusting to...
