WOW! This museum was amazingly good!
Although comparatively small (due to being in a house, although a mansion-like home), it's chock-full of history and artifacts. We loved learning about the Brown family and their lives in the Blackfoot community.
I am a Historical Interpreter at This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City and my favorite part of things was being able to see materials that I still make in the present as a Tinsmith/Blacksmith/Potter in their original state, such as Tin Nutmeg Graters, Punched Tin Lanterns, Pewter Casting Ladles, Sheers, original Branding Irons, large Pottery jugs and containers, etc.
The extant garments were also fascinating to examine, especially when it came to seeing detailed underpinnings, fine fabric, and the incredible quality of work. Not to mention all the hats, purses, and other accessories! Wow!
Additionally, the furnishings were in an amazing condition and make you feel like you stepped right back into the past.
Our host, Leslie, was kind enough to give us the full tour, even though it was 30 minutes until closing and even stayed an hour after closing for us. 😭❤️
