Candy Jar — Local services in Blackfoot

Recently stopped in for the first time. The store is very tidy and clean, and appears to have been recently renovated. Nice space. The customer service was friendly and helpful. They currently have a wall with various salt water taffies and similar candies, and a medium sized display case of various chocolates. It appears as though they have room to grow in their current space.

The highlight, in my eyes, was the fudge. I was specifically looking for a chocolate-free fudge, and they had not one, but five different vanilla fudges that were cocoa-free. We tried three (caramel vanilla, butter pecan, and an orange vanilla one) of the five and loved them all. Great flavor and texture. If you've ever tried to make fudge you know that it isn't as easy as it might seem to get a good texture, but they nailed it. We also tried their huckleberry bars (a dense huckleberry cream dipped in dark chocolate) which were great as well.

I had tunnel vision looking for chocolate-free fudge and admittedly didn't even notice what their other fudges were. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other fudges in the future. Overall it was a...

Con- truly the only one I can think of is that they don’t have many choices. They offer two tables for seating. Pro- Nice lobby. Both the owner & the young male employee interact with you. Wonderful customer service. They accept all forms of payment. They offer you FREE samples of their delicious homemade fudge. Definitely will be back! **NOTE…. the young employee did scoop us a tad much. Normally it isn’t that much on top. I know this cause the owner got after him (in a kind way) for being a bit generous. I am not sure where to start! Just like the potato museum across the road, this shop should be a state icon. The owner was one of the nicest people we have ever met. We went in with our exchange students, he asked them engaging questions and just made their day. Some of the best candy selection, and great nostalgia candy as well. The selection of fudge that was fresh made was like no other. Chocolate raspberry, mint chocolate, huckleberry, raspberry chocolate, salted caramel, chocolate walnut and many more. We even got to watch him make the bass for some of his fudges. He even ships his products, can’t wait...
