Coffeeholics Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Blacksburg

Great place for doing work, and good drinks/food!

They have a good assortment of drinks with lots of customization. You could probably come everyday for a month and have something different(the only difference might be the flavoring hot or cold, but still a difference none-the-less).

There's also food, they have breakfast foods and lunch sandwiches. It's pretty good, fresh egg and decent bagels. I have not tried the lunch sandwiches so :/

The wifi for me has been good, I have only had a problem with it once when it was not working. For my girlfriend, her laptop has had a lot more problems with it. We are not sure why our laptops are acting differently, but one difference is that she has Windows 11 and I have 10, but I am not sure.

The food service could be faster, but it's better food than other places with prepacked things. The workers are great, I've seen one interaction where a customer came with a list of drinks they've had and the worker helped to choose something (based on their preferences of taste) that the customer had not had before.

Lots of tables, couches for groups, and a bar place that has outlets to be able to charge your laptop. The dark grey couch and the far back table have an outlet, but that's about it for the regular tables. If you're on low battery, you might have a little difficulty getting an outlet.

Great place to work, and to hang out!

Significant decline in quality over the past few weeks.

I've always loved this place and have been coming weekly or more for the past couple years. The coffee is decent, the food is quite good, and there is almost always seating available.

In my whole time coming here they haven't seemed to figure out how to keep track of bakery orders. Probably 1 in 3 times I wait 20+ minutes after getting my drink for my muffin before going back up to remind them. Why can't they at least write it down on a ticket?

The past several weeks they've seemed extremely understaffed whenever I came in. There's been only 1 person up front and presumably someone making sandwiches in the back, and that's all as far as I can tell. This means standing at the counter several minutes before you can order, then waiting another 10-20 before getting your drink. And then the drink is probably wrong. The past 2 times I've been, I ordered a hot flavored latte and got it iced (today they even forgot the flavor). I no longer enjoy eating here and will probably get coffee across the street from now on unless I see significant change.

Would be 1 star if it weren't for the bidets on...

Update 5/5: the owner DMed me on instagram explaining that they were short staffed that day and apologized profusely. I mentioned to her the lack of urgency displayed by the staff was lacking, and she said she would talk to her staff about it. I appreciate the owner apologizing and trying to make things right.

I ordered a coffee, sandwich and (pre-made) pastries). It took 20 minutes for the sandwich which was a normal wait time, to be expected. I waited 45 minutes for my coffee, and when I got my coffee I asked about my pastries and the lady who answered said that she’d get to it in a bit. I waited another 10 minutes and nothing. I saw someone waiting in line order a pastry and got it immediately. So I got in line to ask about my pastries. Apparently one of the pastries I ordered was out of stock and no one said anything about it. It was very frustrating to deal with. A different person helped me and gave me a substitute pastry. Overall the food and drinks were ok but definitely not worth the wait and...
