I took a full 8-person room for a team-builder event at work. We did The Witches Curse. Technically it should be "The Witch's Curse", since there's only one witch, but maybe that's part of the curse.
First thing, I messed up on the dates, so we arrived a day early! The nice young man at the counter adjusted the date and got us in anyway. That was super nice. Don't remember his name, but he did his job well.
Another good thing is, we all had a lot of fun. The puzzles were typical escape room puzzles. Some of the team got really into it, playing with all of the objects. Others, like myself, poked around at the decor and trolled the other players. There is enough random decor that you can do things you know won't work, like put the rat in the cauldron.
Some negatives: for a room about curses, the main room is very brightly lit. Even with the spooky forest wallpaper, it feels like a room in an office. Also, there were some technical difficulties. Like the holding-hand thing didn't cause anything to happen the first 5 times we tried it. So we lost 10 minutes on a puzzle we'd already solved. Finally, the air conditioner was broken! All part of the Witch's curse, that fiend! It kinda reminded me of an old video game where the lava is rising in the room and you have to escape before you roast. Once secret rooms open up, you can escape into some cooler air.
Despite the issues, the main thing is my team had a great time. They were talking about it the whole next day. Next time I fly in, we'll try...
Read more5 stars across the board for EVERYTHING Puzzlr did for us! This was our first time doing an escape room, and we just had a blast! I wanted to do something different for my son’s 9th birthday party, and since he’s into pirates, I saw Puzzlr had a room called “Blackbeard’s Boot Camp”. Unsure if 9-year-old boys would like it (or if it was even appropriate), I called them and they were SUPER kind and informative about everything I needed to know. Booked for 10 people immediately, and let me tell you I was already cringing at the idea of bringing all these kids in and causing a lot of chaos. No. Didn’t need to feel like that at all! As soon as we walked in, MK was a SAINT and treated our group like family! She was interacting with everyone and had an angel’s patience level with the hundreds of questions these boys were throwing her way. The room itself was challenging (mind you: we were beginners and had a lot of kids running all over the place. But we did have to use our 3 hints… plus a little extra help. No shade from MK, though! Puzzlr: do you have an extra MK I can have?), but after solving all the clues and riddles, I realized this was something we needed to do again! Everyone had SO much fun, and we will absolutely be returning to try...
Read moreLet me start by saying that my friends & I love escape rooms. We’ve done probably 30-35 of them in the past few years. We did the “Witch’s Curse” room and we were very disappointed. A lot of the things that needed to be solved weren’t even puzzles, they were just putting in combinations or putting things in holes. That can be forgiven to an extent, but almost the ENTIRE first room had nothing but broken puzzles. The employee didn’t even tell us until after we finished the game. We wasted 15 minutes trying to do broken puzzles and he had the audacity to say “we’re going to fix them but for now they’re just red herrings”… broken puzzles are not ‘red herrings’. They’re a waste of our time, it makes the game less fun, and it’s cheap. Don’t charge us $25 a piece and then after we’ve already played tell us half the stuff isn’t working. We would’ve chosen a...
