Ninja Cafe - Blacksburg — Restaurant in Blacksburg

This is a new favorite place for us! I've driven by this hundreds of times and finally tried it and I'm wishing I tried much sooner. The bowls are delicious the teas are refreshing. I have two kids ... Ages 6 and 8. They loved it and split a bowl with rice, grilled shrimp, avocado, edamame, corn, pineapple, lettuce, carrots and sauce on the side. My husband and I each had a Cook Bowl with chicken and had food left over. The portions are a good size and we maybe even could have split but both enjoyed picking out our toppings. We will definitely go back!!!

There are also games to play with while you are there. My kids enjoyed this. It was playing cards, Jenga and that sort of thing.

My husband is lactose intolerant and was pleased to learn that almost all of their drinks/teas are lactose free.

Water cups are available for you to fix for yourself.

There is a drive through available. You can place an order ahead of time for drinks using their app.

They were super helpful and patient with us since it was our first time and we had lots of questions. For our first visit, I could not have been happier. Like I said, we will definitely going back often.

Update (7/2021): Since Covid, quality of service has diminished, seemingly large employee turn over to blame. Not entirely to blame for this but our orders have consistently made incorrectly and this has kept us from returning as frequently. I have to be REALLY in the mood for poke bowls now… :(

My biggest complaint would probably be lack of online presence, websites are free these days so there really is no excuse to not have one, but that doesn't seem to affect their business much, so...

Can't speak for quality of fish, usually I am very skeptical of inland seafoods, but they keep it fresh.

Portion control needs a little work, have gotten a few bowls with varying portions, but I am always glad to walk in and see them busy.

We have not tried their teas/smoothies yet, but what we have tried keeps us coming back for more!! Excellent product considering it is located in NRV!! Never had any problems with attitude from the staff, very gracious! We hope they stick around for...

So far, the best bubble tea (boba) in the NRV (they have a lot of other stuff, too). Have tried Sushi Factory (2nd place, but only because they don't offer sweetness/sugar level option--I like mine with no extra sugar), & Below Fahrenheit (pearls are hard!). My 2 complaints are: 1) it took 15 minutes to get my food. I also didn't add a tip--was this why it took so long? 2) I am irked by places like this that are set up to ask for a tip with a credit card payment! If I'm at the counter ordering my food, wait for my number to get up & retrieve it, get my own sauces, utensils, and napkins, clean up after myself, and am not getting waited on, then sorry, tips are not appropriate. Don't get me wrong, I've tipped in fast food places before; but, something excellent should happened first. Otherwise great quality food and excellent customer care. I love their bowls!
