My main issue was how Managment handled the bad experience I had with meal ordered .i ordered Thai cashews chicken red and green peppers, onions, pineapple and roasted chili peppers with a Thai sauce. Served with jasmine rice. (Roll not included) 15.99 The meal was pleasing to me at first I was enjoying my meal it was delicious until I came across a red veggie looking thing . My first thought was red onions I started chewing on it and as I did I thought I’d go through the roof . It was burning my mouth so badly .my eyes were watering terribly . I waved down waitress …thought but discovered later that it was the manager /owner . I said to her with urgency that” I need water my mouth feels like it's on fire ! “ She got me some water . I felt very sick to my stomach .The burning in my mouth was getting worse and worse . I felt very nauseous and ran to the bathroom where I vomited a bit .when I returned to my table I talked to my waitress . I told her that I could not eat my meal or even sip on my coffee . My mouth was still burning and I wasn’t about to take a chance on another bite of the meal .. I told the waitress that I shouldn’t have to pay for a meal that I can not eat . She said she’d speak to the manager/owner . She then told me that the manager /owner refused to take my meal off the bill . .I went to speak to manager/owner myself . She blamed me and said it was my fault for ordering that meal ..Never once did she apologize for my poor experience. She continued to put blame on me . She even said that I shouldn’t have known by reading the menu . I told her I’ve had chili peppers before but not like those . She said because it said Thai sauce in the description of the meal I should have known that it was very hot . I proceeded to try to argue the point with her that I couldn’t eat my meal so I shouldn’t be charged for it . She asked me to leave the restaurant. I was shocked how badly she treated her customer. I left thinking if the owners treat their customers so poorly , how do they treat their staff ..very poor managment / owner but good service from the staff.
I have just read the owners rebuttal below . This is my response . You stated that I walked out on my bill when in actuality I was under the assumption that my girlfriend payed while I was dealing with you . You asked me to leave the restaurant because you were done arguing the dispute .. I left not knowing the bill wasn’t covered . When I did realize what had happened. I believed the right thing had happened . I think this absolutely shows that you yourself need to learn that kindness does go...
Read moreI took my 4-year-old there to eat after playing hard at the park. I ordered chicken strips for her and Fettuccine Alfredo for myself. After 40 minutes went by, I was informed that our order was overlooked and they were just now making everything. During that 40 minutes, our same waitress had brought out food for a table next to us. Then after they were done eating, she brought out a dessert tray for them, took their orders, brought their desserts to them, boxed up their leftover food and they paid for their checks, all before she even checked on us or our order. She said she saw us sitting there and asked herself why hasn't our food made it to the table? I had to catch her to request a fresh glass of water, which she had forgotten to bring me. Mind you, I'm sitting with a very hungry four year old who is extremely antsy and has now had Rootbeer on an empty stomach. When our food finally came out, I was highly disappointed. Her chicken strips were not straps of chicken. Instead, it was chicken parts, gristle, fat, and breading shaped like a strip. Her fruit had been sitting in a cup for the entire hour we waited for our food. Yes, it was mushy. My food tasted so bland, it was not worth the wait. The waitress said she wouldn't be getting any food for herself that night so I could be compensated 50% off of just my Alfredo, which was kind of a slap in the face. My 4-year-old was the one that I felt bad for because at least my food was somewhat edible. I was handed my check, and that was it. No asking if we wanted dessert, anything more to drink, no dessert tray brought out to us, nothing. The waitress did give my 4-year-old a sticker for being so good - she deserved more than that after waiting that long and then getting served something that McDonalds or Burger King does a better job at making. We will never go back to this...
Read morePoor customer service. The food is poor now . It used to be wonderful. Poor communication. Very slow service . The last time several times we came to Carrol’s they were short staffed. We have patience for that and have still chosen to support this home town business. We didn’t complain even as our fries come out burned and black as coal. Our food cold . We didn’t complain when we didn’t get refills on drinks and sat with empty glasses until we left. We haven’t complained when our orders were wrong and when we didn’t get sides we paid for , we didn’t complain when we were concerned about the wait time we observed while we watched a single man fall asleep because it took so long for his server to take his money and for him to pay. We didn’t complain when we ordered food to be picked up and we didn’t get what we ordered 3 other times prior to writing this - because we have been long time lovers of Carrol’s so we overlooked alllllllll of this. We always come here for our family birthdays and ladies meetings each week. But today, was a day I couldn’t overlook. I called in a pick up order and there was a miscommunication between me and the hostess who took my order so I did not receive the food I ordered . I called because what I received was a meal I am unable to eat. Assuming that the manager would make it right with me . The manager did come on the line , apologized , and then basically said “ Too bad “. I was so disappointed after all of our years of faithfulness to this restaurant , overlooking so many cold or burned meals and long waits and empty glasses and wrong orders that it prompted me to write a bad review today and let people know they should go somewhere else if they want fresh food cooked well in a timely manner .
The money we spend to support businesses matters. We should get what...
