This is the restaurant attached to the Blaine U.S. Olympic Training curling ice arena, 2-rink hockey arena. It's an amazing place, you don't have to worry about air conditioning. I mean there must be a million cubic feet of ice. Food was pretty good, the view from the bar of the Curling Arena, I guess you'd call it, made for an interesting show as teams competed and practiced. They have poutine. Don't know what that is? If you like french fries, gravy and cheese curds, you should look it up. I took a picture of it, as well as the deep fried pickles which are definitely a worthy addition. Very family-friendly, easy to get to, hard to find the first time. Doesn't look like a restaurant until you get close which is probably it's only fault. Ample outdoor seating, indoor seating and bar seating, with a full bar. We conducted our social monthly Lions Club meeting for the Spring Lake Park Lions Club. It was pleasant not too loud, and yes they do have an event room for...
Read moreA group of us went up to the bar after hockey, and a second group came up around 12 midnight to join in and celebrate one of the guys' birthdays. The posted hours say they're open until 1am, so we figured we could grab a quick beer or two. We were sadly mistaken when the manager told everybody, "I already locked the door, we're closed!" I can't figure why you would close an hour early with a half dozen patrons still buying beverages, and then even worse you turn away another half dozen guys who wanted to celebrate a birthday. Not only is it rude, but it's just bad business. We've played hockey at Fogerty for years, and this bar/restaurant has changed staff and management seemingly endlessly. Rarely do they seem to have things figured out. We'll be taking our business across the street to Old Piper...
Read moreSticks & Stones sponsors our C mite hockey team, so we planned a team dinner there for tonight. After dinner, the boys were very excited to use the candy machines and see the curling in action. I was told by the extremely crabby old lady at the front desk that they were not allowed to be there, and that I need to learn to watch my kids better. Mind you, I was standing there the entire time with another parent. She threatened to call security as well as the manager even after the kids left. She was extremely rude to say the least. Why would you bother to sponsor kids if they aren't allowed to be there? Super disappointed and we will take our business elsewhere...
