Monte's Just A Bite, is a little slice of pure heaven in the simplest form of expression in homemade dining ....! Absolutely no tricks no gimmicks just old fashion traditional food cooked and prepare to mouth watering perfection. For the first time in 5ys of traveling to Birch Bay we decided to try this place and we found out what we been missing in 5ys.....! Each and very time we even thought of trying this place, the lines and the wait has been incredible long. This time we where able to get in without any problems and it was definitely worth the wait....! This place is straight old school shoulder to shoulder dining if it's crowded, wooden chairs and benches you wouldn't know this from the outside. But don't let the smallest of this place fool you, the portion of the food is extremely large and over the top tasty. The pancakes 🥞 were a mixture of unspeakable pure sweetness and the waffles 🧇 completely out of this world dipped in goodness.. The sides were simply made to order season to perfection, there was enough food for four... Shawn was totally awesome, making our dining experience extra special from start to finish. He seemingly was the wearer of many hats as well (waiter cook, and customer service representative) all of those positions were done friendly and professionally. Thank you Shawn for taking care of us, you sir are definitely a great representative for this little slice of pure...

Found this place for breakfast over the border and it was delicious! “How is everything?” “The corned beef if ridiculously good!” Corned beef…my usual fave for restaurants and this may be the best I have had to date! The waffle was thiner, crispy, and had the perfect chewiness to it. The kid had bites of everything and had half the waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes! (Highest compliments for a picky eater!) Kiddo loved it all but the corned beef was spicy for him but perfect for mom! The signs are hilarious and give you a good chuckle making for a fun ambience to enjoy your meal. Server was super nice and ready to refill the oh so thick non-acidic strong coffee! The old brick building itself is so cool with a perfect view in the back of trains and marina. I also love how they repurposed vintage singer table legs. On the way out we met Monte himself!! We will be back again! You leave fully fed, happy, and smell a little bit greasy..just the way a good ol’ American breakfast should be! We will be back for sure! They couldn't get my breakfast order right the way I asked. The food was drenched in grease. I honestly couldn't even eat it it was really gross. The cooks looked dirty, like a dirty cigarette smoking drunk cooking your food. This was last year. I know my experience was so bad that I would never consider going back even if I was starving. Every time I pass by the restaurant, I cringe. All I can say is gross, gross, gross, and more gross. Sorry for a bad review, but if I'm never willing to eat at your restaurant again, it was pretty bad. I'm an avid traveler and diner. I know food. Maybe if you clean it up a bit. The restaurant was a bit grimey, too. It needs a deep clean. I see the restaurant has a lot of good reviews. Either the owner has lots of friends or these people don't know what decent food is. Because it doesn't make sense. I would never give a bad review for no reason. Maybe the day I went, the cook had a hangover, or these people are just use to eating...
