I visited here a few months back..needless to say I will not be coming back. Here's the story...we had family vivisting who were on kind of a tight schedule crunch. We stopped here for breakfast met up w them on their way through town. Its been 4 years since we last saw one another. I had ordered a sausage breakfast bowl w gravy over the top, the server was rather bothered whenni reminded her she forgot the gravy...thats where the bad mood started. I wasn't gonna let it bother me though. We all got our food ate, we very polite...I've been a server before im always as polite as possible. We hung around for a little while nothing too major, talked about work, and family..I didn't feel we over stayed but this woman certainly felt that way. Our cousin drank a cup of coffee after his meal so he had a total or 2 throughout our visit. The restaurant started to fill up just a little..maybe one table waiting. The lady somewhat rudley said. "I need yall to leave we have other tables waiting. Which..we ablidged. We tipped..we paid..moved our conversation to our cars. The lady pulled down all the blinds around the restaurant. An elderly couple came out after us and said...verbatim...may I add. "I dont know what you kids did to piss that lady off but she was cursing yall up and down and called the manager about what to do, she made us so uncomfortable i didn't even finish my meal." I told them I'm terribly sorry..I had no idea... then they replied " some people are just bitter, have a nice day, don't pay no mind to her." I'll stick to my Blue Ridge Waffle...
Read moreOur waitress was very sweet and attentive, however the food did not come out as it was ordered. Everything I ordered was requested to be extra well cooked- extra crispy bacon, scrambled well eggs, and extra well hash browns- and none of it came out like that. I am particular with my food, especially bacon, and I've been a WH patron in general for 25+ years; so I know cooking bacon the way I like it means it takes longer and comes after the rest of my food, and I am clear when ordering and put emphasis on "burn the bacon". I received questionable looks at my request, and still could only eat 1 piece as the rest was not crispy or completely cooked after they had to remake the first order of bacon. The eggs were still somewhat runny, and what was supposed to be extra well hashbrowns might as well have been raw. I sucked it up and ate what I could as I didn't feel sending it back was appropriate at that point. This was my first time at this location, and they definitely werent so busy that an extra minute or two on the griddle would have been an issue, there were empty seats and they weren't slammed. Just disappointed in this visit, haven't decided if I'll give them or another cook/shift at that...
Read moreAll the food here was very good. However, the one problem I had with the place was when I asked about carryout...the waitress informed me that their would be an automatic 20% upcharge for a carryout order. When I asked what that was for, she said that it was gratuity, but only 10% would go to her and another 10% to the store. Carryout or not, I consider gratuity to be earned by the level of service received. To make it incorporated into the bill is to undermine any incentive I can provide to promptly and accurately serve my food, not to mention falsely inflat the base price of my meal, altogether. Even though I decided to dine in, and my waitress provided excellent service, this simply isn't a good direction for a company. Next time I pass by and think of grabbing a quick bite on the go, I will surely remember this conversation and consider going elsewhere and to a place where my food is the price listed for my food, and not a penny more--unless I decide to provide...
