Hi-Way Bakery — Restaurant in Bloom Township

I don't know who these people think they are but they were very rude!! They tried to lie about the reason for the coffee being cold because of the creamer and when the younger skrawny dark skinned hunch backed mexican girl asked the Mexican old heavy set lady (yolanda) if the coffee was fresh she responded yes looking at her knowingly lying . When I received my cup of coffee it was not even warm so when we asked the younger Mexican gal if she could please put the cup of coffee in the microwave she said she's not allowed to do that. So that's when we ask the owner John their boss if we could have it microwaved & he asks its not warm? And we tell him no. And the girl insisted that its damn near cold because of the creamer& he told her firmly to make a fresh pot so she had no choice but to listen to her boss. Seriously everyone knows that even if you have creamer in hot coffee its not going to get cold! If that was the case their would be so many complaints from customers. Everyone loves their coffee hot! Ordered a cake for my birthday. When my husband picked it up they said they didn't have a ticket for a cake for us. They asked if we ordered from a different bakery by mistake. Checked my bank account and the money for the cake was taken out so the mistake was theirs. They said it is what it is. They'd get one together for me. They had just over an hour to get it done. They did but they cake looked awful. Not at all what I had ordered, hoped for. The taste was good but I didn't even want to take a picture of it it looked so bad. Sprinkles and blobs of color instead of roses. They did they're best in a short amount of time but again it was their mistake and I was very disappointed. It was my first time ordering from this bakery but have had cakes from there at other events. Maybe I'd try them again but I don't know. I’ve lived in four different states, and all over the state of Illinois. This is by far the best bakery I have ever been to. I don’t know why anyone would go to Dunkin’ Donuts or any other such place, when Hiway Bakery is available. The owner plans on expanding to include a drive-through, which I am very happy to anticipate. All the products are fresh, and utterly delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful, also very efficient. And if you want to talk to John (the owner), he’s usually there early in the morning working hard to keep up with the demand for his delectable treats. This place also has a very family atmosphere, where you can sit down at one of several tables, and have a cup of coffee and a doughnut by yourself, or with friends.
