Oasis Spa and Nail Salon — Local services in Bloom Township

I decided to support a local business and visited this spa for a brazillian wax. I had a 5 pm appointment and when I showed up, Linda (owner) informed me that "oops, I forgot about this appointment and forgot to warm the wax". I said ok no problem because I live close by. I came back an half hour later for my wax and it was the WORST experience of my life!!!!!!!!! She literally covered the entire area with wax and proceeded to chip away at the wax for ONE HOUR and THIRTY MINUTES. I get waxes a couple times a year and I have never been in so much pain in my life nor has one ever taken more than 30 minutes. I asked her twice to just stop because the pain of her taking 1/4 inches pieces from my lady bits was unbearable each time "oh no, its uneven we are almost done. She claims to have been doing this for 20 years, how???? She needs not offer this service to anyone! I told her honestly how horrible the whole experience was and her response was "I'm just meticulous", yet when I got home I could visibly see long strands still very prevalent. I did not get home until 7pm after a 5pm appointment and I live less than 2 minutes away from the salon. Its a good thing she's going out...

Only giving stars because the environment was clean and the atmosphere was very pleasant and tranquil. The staff was also very nice and attentive.

However, that can't completely trump the subpar services and unhygienic nature of some services. Got a Brazilian wax and anyone who has every gotten one knows it's supposed to be one strip that comes up not pieces. Well that appointment was nothing but microscopic pieces of wax which caused extreme discomfort and skin irritation. Not too mention the fact that the waxed only used 1(ONE) popsicle stick. The other salons I have been to for a Brazilian have used one stick and then threw it away!!! By the time I realized what was happening it was too late!!! I cut that appointment short, went straight home, and showered!!!

When I left the popsicles sticks that had been used for my appointment were still in the wax pot!!!

Not sure how their other services stand up, but definitely won't be coming back for a Brazilian...

I came in and asked for a powder full set. Once I found the color I wanted in powder, I asked the lady to match it to my pedicure. She kept trying to get me to switch to polish when I specifically asked for powder nails. Then she had the nerve to get an attitude when I said the colors clearly didn't match. DO NOT PATRONIZE! if I could give 0 stars I would! EDITED TO INCLUDE RESPONSE TO OWNER: your staff had an attitude after about 5 mins. She kept sighing heavily shrugging her shoulders when I didn't agree to the two different colors. If you don't want to assist your paying customers you shouldn't be running a business! Try not being rude to the people that pay you. Your response shows your lack of professionalism. I see you have lots of negative reviews. I hope people are reading your rude responses.
