Stopped by Stroh's for the first time a few weeks ago and had a great experience! It's the first Ice Cream spot I've been to since the start of the pandemic, so I wasn't really sure what to expect... but they make it pretty easy!
When you arrive at the store, you'll notice a sign that explains their limit for how many people can be inside the store at one time. As a result, there's a fairly persistent line outside the door, of groups waiting to enter and pick out their ice cream. Once inside, there's a flow for how to go through the room, and create an orderly direction for people to move in and out. You'll notice that there's plexiglass between the customer areas and the ice cream areas, to maximize safety and sanitation as well.
The quality of the ice cream is solid, and I'm sure there's plenty to be said about the various flavors. I tried the Superman and Scoopy Doo: both good flavors, but I'd definitely go for Scoopy Doo again next time (I think I have grown out of the Superman Ice Cream stage of my life!).
Outside of the pandemic-related modifications, Stroh's still looks like a classic Ice Cream shop inside -- you can tell that some of the decor really has been around for decades! The interior has a great vibe, and I'm certainly looking forward to returning someday when it's safe to eat inside the building! Currently the tables outside the building are open and provide a great venue to enjoy the ice cream, while maintaining a good distance from the other customers. Overall, a solid...
Read moreI had a pick up order that was handled terribly. I assumed it was ready, which was my fault for doing. The owner asked if I needed help and I said I had a pick up order. After I said that the owner got hostile with me. He said it wasnât ready and when I asked how long the wait would be, he replied âit will be ready when itâs readyâ . I really donât understand why it was handled like that. He could have just said itâs not ready yet and it shouldnât be much longer. But he actually got mad at me. Iâm really confused on the confrontation I wasnât being rude and I didnât ask with an attitude. I just said I was there to pick the order up. I wonât be going back here and Iâm recommending to the people I know that they donât ether. If you go there just expect terrible...
Read moreStroh's Ice Cream shop is a decent small shop within the Birmingham area.  Just a warning.. They are still to a point paranoid about the pandemic. I was able to try the Double Dutch soft ice cream and Mango Smoothie. The mango smoothie was great. It had an amazing flavor and was easy to drink.  The Double Dutch was good. I liked that they used the dutch style to kill some of the sweetness. It just was not memorable. The pricing was decent for an Ice Cream shop. I guess the biggest complaint was the ice cream. It had a hole in the middle as you went deeper. Normally at other shops it's a complete serving because the middle is filled in too.  I do not know if it was the girl who made it or direction...
