I've been a customer of Wah's Garden for years after Light Star was sold to new owners and found them to become dirty and discourteous. Light Star had the best crab Rangoon but I couldn't trust them anymore. I decided to try Wah's Garden again and was happy with their chicken and broccoli, shrimp lo mein and whatever else I decided to try. The women there were mostly pleasant so I stuck them. However, yesterday I was very disappointed. I ordered the hunan chicken with mushrooms and carrots. For the first time I ordered it with pork fried rice. The rice was so dry and under cooked--not good at all. I also usually get the boneless ribs and chicken fingers combo for my son (they usually make it as a special request), however this time I was told they can't make it because "things are so expensive now" which makes no sense--they can charge a little extra if that's the case As part of their promotions, if you spend $34 you get an order of chicken fingers for free. I spent $33.15 and asked if I was to getting the promotion of chicken fingers as I was only $0.85 short. The woman said no because "the cameras were on" and she would get in trouble! How would the owner know what I ordered or paid for with the "camera". She was probably the owner. After so many years, I was so disappointed. Poor customer service and poor quality say a lot about how you value your customers and our business. I know my lack of support will not make or break your restaurant, but loyalty goes both ways. A couple weeks ago, I ordered the comb dinner ginger chicken, which I have ordered many times, my favorite.. I took home and found no ginger in it. Called they said they put in small pieces. Well the issue is I didn't taste any ginger at all. In the past I always tasted it. So I went in personally and got into argument that I was wrong. Well, it was very unpleasant. They asked me if I was ordering again? I said how could I? Without ginger, it wasn't ginger chicken. I ended up leaving after argument (yes, yelling at me) and told them I would not come back or recommend this place. But yelling back and forth was not a resolution. There was another worker there on the phone. She signaled me to wait. When she got off the phone she spoke to other worker. After I walked out, I heard a lot of yelling as I walked away. No one came after me to apologize. Cannot recommend anymore. And why would I lie about the issue? What happened to the customer...
Read moreNow why the 1 star? I read a review from awhile back claiming they found metal in their food, like a piece of Brillo Pad. Can confirm (look at images) they do get pieces of brillo pad in your food. From the looks of the kitchen, I'm not surprised at all honestly. Chewing or swallowing a piece of metal like this could have caused some serious damage to someone's gums. The owners / workers here are all really friendly, the food was decent, but unfortunately I do not trust coming back and hope the owner's see this review to try solving this problem in the kitchen. Clean things up in that kitchen and try not feeding the customers metal is a good start.
