Mixed feelings about this place. When its good, its really good. well-priced food that tastes good. I always get either the fried chicken or the handrolls. I think about ordering all the time.
-but when its bad, its unacceptable. Ive had two seperate cases of spoiled chicken, which you couldnt tell until after the first bite and that sharp smell of ammonia hits your nose, and the slimy chicken meat is shown. Or when the rice in the handrolls has that mushy texture and the distinct smell of being left out ( i make/eat rice on a near daily basis, i know what old spoiling rice smells like lol)
-They dont seem to get alot of business so i see why they arent that keen on throwing out their older product, but at the end of the day when a customer ends up eating that, you lose more money in the long run when they dont come back after that.
-dont even bother ordering online on grubhub for delivery. ive told the nice lady that runs the place that the pricing of the chicken online is completely wrong (whoever set up their grubhub wasnt paying attention) but they still havent done anyting about it, and that was atleast a year ago. (a 6 piece chicken on grubhub is $32 dollars, when its only $14 dollars on their website.)
-the guy that runs the place (i think is the owner's son) acts like he would rather be anywhere else than working. I hate to say this but he shouldnt be running the restaurant. better off hiring a highschooler working for the first time. His mother and the older sushi chef worked so hard to connect to the community and offer great customer service for years, only for that to be wasted within a week when her son's running the show.
needless to say i probably wont be coming back here. recent experience has left a bad taste(literally) in my mouth and although i wish them the best, unless something is done i cant see this place...
Read moreI took my family and dined in on a weeknight, and we were the only customers there. I was not impressed at all.
The food was average at best. Everything was overly salty. We had to have more hot water added to the miso soup and ramen to make it palatable. The bulgogi over rice had too much sauce...I have made better bulgogi at home using sauce in a jar. The ramen we ordered basically seemed like it came from a package, seeing as it was a rectangle of noodles in the broth. Paying $15 for a $2-3 package of ramen is outrageous.
THEY DON'T SERVE WATER. You had to buy bottles of water if you wanted some to drink. WHAT RESTAURANT DOESN'T SERVE WATER???
Our server was not friendly at all. He questioned us when we said our soups were too salty. After he gave us our food, he didn't pay any more attention to us. We were on our own.
The worst came at the end. THEY CHARGED US FOR AN EXTRA ROLL WE DIDN'T ORDER. Perhaps it was a mistake, but with no one else in the restaurant, that sort of mistake shouldn't be made. I only caught it because I looked at a receipt and pointed it out to him. ON TOP OF THAT, HE DIDN'T REFUND ME THE FULL AMOUNT. It was too difficult to put back on my card, so he refunded me in cash, but he didn't give me back the tax and tip i had paid. He short-changed me several bucks.
Overall a pretty frustrating experience.
My daughter liked the fries. The older sushi...
Read moreI really really wanted to like this place, but there were too many things to over look. First the food is ridiculously expensive, and definitely not worth the price. For almost $70 I got a half order of chicken wings, a rainbow roll, california roll, seaweed salad, and kimbap. The two sushi rolls has almost no flavor, but weirdly enough they put wasabi directly into the rolls. I've never heard of a california roll with wasabi, and I really don't like wasabi. The kimbap was also a really weirdo combo with spicy Korean hotdog and crab meat mixed into the traditional ingredients. Not a fan at all. The chicken was the biggest disappointment, it was oily and had almost no flavor. Definitely was not the crispy Korean fried chicken I'd been expecting. The seaweed salad wasn't bad, but again, they made it spicy, which I've never experienced in any seaweed salad I've eaten. I will give them another try, I've heard good thing about the ramen, but the main allure of the restaurant, the Korean fried chicken, was a total...
