Munchies — Restaurant in Bloomingdale

Girls, listen. What do you think when you hear munchies? You hear Mary J…you hear snacks (and lots of’em), you hear ice cream, chips, burgers, fries, whatever you can get your hands on to satisfy them munchies, no? Right. Well, let me just say, the restaurant, Munchies DELIVERS….well, the munchies. Whatever you need, from fried Oreos to exotic snacks, your munchies needs will be met at this stoner’s dream joint (no pun intended lol).

My two friends live near this spot and we’ve driven by it so many times over the last two years and it’s always just looked so cool to me. Earlier this year, I finally ordered delivery from them. I had the chopped cheese and fries with their special sauce. Now, as someone who’s had authentic chopped cheeses from the Bronx, Munchies DELIVERT! Like, that was a CHOPPED.CHEESE. They nailed it. It didn’t taste cheap at all. That thang was made with love! I tasted it! And again, it would be every stoner’s dream! So good! So, as I was headed to my friends’ place again, I decided to order ahead and actually go inside to pick it up. Upon walking in, I felt like I was walking into a massive candy store. It was like the Willy Wonka Factory for stoners! Just, lovely. The bright colors, the accessible Mary J, the munchies from different parts of the world, the sofas, the tv, it was just a treat! So well done. You can see that they clearly put some thought into the decor, and I appreciate it!

This time, I ordered this black truffle cheesesteak that was truly beautifully done. The shaved steak, the truffle sauce and flavor, the cheese. So good! It was loaded with steak. They did not skimp at all! I also had more of their fries with a side of the munchies sauce. That munchies sauce is every stoner’s dream! I also had a side of mozzarella sticks! So crispy, flavorful and more importantly, CHEESY! The marinara sauce was also flavorful. If it was from a can, it was certainly “loved up”, and I appreciate it!

Had to stop eating my chicken sandwich to write this review because DAMN! That is some good chicken!! I got the spicy Kentucky chicken sandwich, level 2, perfect amount of heat for me, spicy but not too spicy to eat, topped with fresh coleslaw and tomato. It’s the freshness of these ingredients that separates this place from the quick check around the corner as my preferred late night munch spot. The burgers (not pictured) are the real star of the show here, the cooks have a real talent for not overcooking the food. No one likes dried out burgers or chicken tenders, and you won’t find that here!! We come for the food honestly but it’s the heady drinks and exotic snacks that surprise us every time. From Japanese flavors of lays chips to capri suns, they’ve got just the snack or drink to peak anyone’s curiosity. I picked up a bag of lays spicy crawfish flavored chips because why not (not as good as the chicken sandwich). The food and drink menu is only undermined by the friendly and attentive staff. These guys really appreciate every customer and go the extra mile to introduce their offerings to make sure you get the most out of your experience here. A modern marvel, they are also well stocked with cannabis products and supplies. For months I scoured the Internet in search of a large grinder, sure enough, I found my new one at munchies. With flavored blunt wraps, cones, cigarillos, and pieces, they are a one stop shop. We really like the King Palm terpene and watermelon blunt cones. They have a wide selection of flower, edibles, and more to satisfy the most particular of smokers. This place is an absolute must try for anyone looking for something dank to eat...

Passed by this place many times and really it was the colors of it that grabbed me. Viewing the menu online I knew exactly what this place was and am pleased that finally I went and got to find out how right I was.

The atmosphere is dope. It's laid back and a place to chill out with friends. Staff is super friendly and helpful on both sides of the business. Which I forgot to mention... a bodega and a grill. Pretty dope to see something that is a love letter to the best shops in the world, that is both not located in or near Hoboken/Jersey City and does not rob you of your duckets like those areas do.

The bodega side has exotic snacks (for those who don't know, these are name brand chips, candies, snacks, cookies etc... flavors hat are found around the world and not for sale in the US. A row of coolers featuring exotic drinks as well as a large selection of waters, recovery and hydration options, sodas, juices, energy drinks and more. And for smokers of the highest sophistication, you will find a plethora of items for your needs.

The grill... the homie manning it was on point and my god that Munchburger was epic. The smash patties cooked to that perfect point where the crust has rendered and the meat has taken in those spices but the meat is far from dry. Juicy... flavorful... hearty. You can tell the cook takes pride...
