My friend had been telling me to eat here for months now, and I finally managed to get over to do so with him today. I regret putting it off so long, my meal here was far and away the best dining experience I have had in AGES. The food was... Phenomenal. I had two of the specials, the Caprese Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Honey Bun Cake. I'm no foodie so all I can tell you was that I demolished that sandwich in only slightly more time than it took to come out, which was within minutes, and it was not a small sandwich. In fact, even though I'm a notoriously voracious eater, being tall and skinny, I was feeling pretty full by the time I finished the sandwich and hadn't even started on the plentiful portion of house-made chips. I barely managed to finish those before I finally turned my attention to the cake, which was an absolute SLAB 4x larger than I expected it to be. I was feeling pretty stuffed, but wanted to at least try it before I risked packing it into my backpack for my ride home, motorcycle packs aren't kind to foods usually. I was halfway through it before I managed to force myself to stop lest I be too full to bend over to reach my handlebars.
All the while, Clard carried on cooking, answering the phones, organizing the calendar, washing the dishes, prepping trays, and seemingly a hundred other tasks, including continuously checking in on and just conversing with me and my buddy. I felt genuinely welcomed and could tell Clard really cared what we thought about the food (though I could also tell he already knew it was fantastic, because it was.) Clard also just, for seemingly no reason, threw half a pumpkin snickerdoodle into my order, which was also beyond fantastic. It was after what I hear is a pretty popping lunch rush, so it was just me and my friend though a couple other customers popped through while we were there, though I think one of them wasn't actually even getting anything, they just wanted to say hi because it's that kind of energy in there.
I can't even knock any points for the venue itself. While I'd love to see these guys in a beautiful location downtown where I can more easily reach them and they can reach more people, there was something delightful about being served probably the best meal I'd had this year in what I used to occasionally visit as a hot-dog joint. It felt like casual fine-dining, which suits me just fine.
I'm already looking forward to going back to try the Muffaletta later this week, and I'll be disappointed in myself if I don't make it out there at least once a week from here out. If you're like me and a townie who's had a half-dozen connections recommend this place, do yourself a favor and get on it. You'll soon join the ranks of those doing the recommending, I...
Read more(2025) Updated Review: Chef’s Table is still one of my favorite local businesses and so deserving of their accolades. Since my last review as a restaurant visitor, I have had them do a pop-up at our family business (with German food for Oktoberfest) as well as a catered taco bar for a non-profit meeting with over 100 attendees. Both times I was so pleased with the food (obviously) but also the portion sizes, price, and service. My meeting attendees raved about the food, and we had a list of 10-12 people with varying dietary restrictions and allergies. Clard and Tiffany made it work. They can make literally anything at Chef’s Table, and their catering service is my top pick all day every day.
(2024) Why did it take me so long to get over here? I’d been hearing about Chef’s Table for a while, but we finally stopped in. I had The Grownup; holy moly, it was huge and a true grownup grilled cheese packed with flavor. The fries are hands down some of the best in town, so crispy and good. My friend had a potato soup that was so hearty and tasty. We split a peanut butter cookie that tasted better than your grandma’s. Clard and Tiffany are cooking and baking with their heart and soul. I cannot wait to try more of their menu plus some of their specials. I stopped writing restaurant reviews a while back because I hadn’t had a “wow” moment in a long time, but these guys made me feel so warm and fuzzy over a...
Read moreFirst time visiting. Fascinating little space, cozy, friendly staff. Ordered for 4:45 and arrived a little early. Man waited to prepare the food knowing the timeframe of having it fresh as possible on time. The way he wrapped it kept it toasty warm on the ride home. I am used to American Cheese flavor at home, so wasn't sure what this would taste like. It was good! It actually tastes like American cheese flavor between the combination of cheeses. A mellow, soothing flavor. Thick layer of cheese as well. Nicely toasted bread. Highly recommend anyone to visit this location. Browse the menu online and take advantage of their online ordering which was...
