I’ve been going to the coffee shop for at least 15 years. Even through the changes that have taken place. I love that this place has remained when so many others have not. Having said this, it’s no longer my go to. And it stinks. Too much gossip between employees when they should be focused on their responsibilities. It’s fine to chat at work, but not to the point someone stops what they’re doing to turn around and join the conversation. Plus, I ask for flavoring in my coffee and about 1/3 of the time, I can’t really tell it’s in there. And I paid for it. But trying gain someone’s attention to have it corrected, can be a real pain. I have no problem paying the amount I do for the type of drink I get, except when I realize customers aren’t a priority to the people who are supposed to be repping the brand I’m purchasing. I’m not ‘done’ coming here, but it’s definitely no longer feasible to believe I can be in and out in 10-15 mins. I spend a lot of time waiting here. And time is money. Not every trip is like this, but it seems to be the norm lately. I’d also like to say most of the employees are polite and courteous. Even the girl telling me I couldn’t purchase more than 2 bakery items was polite about it. Didn’t purchase any bakery items because I think it’s ridiculous that I couldn’t purchase 3 croissants for myself & 2 other bridal party members…specifically at $5.25 a pop. So instead of spending close to $30...
Read moreI love coffee hound and have been a loyal customer since I was a child, I'm 30 now and within the last year I feel the service had gone completely downhill. The coffee is always burnt, because the new workers rush to make orders. I started getting anything but coffee there which sucks because I used to really love their coffee. The staff can be very rude too. This very well may be the last stop I make at this location downtown. My partners coffee didn't come with sleeves today so I grabbed my own for him, the worker scolded me and told me in a really snotty tone that "she could get them for me amd that I didn't need to get them myself, so I should ask her next time" really it's the tone that got to me. It was very rude and not kind at all. I've been coming here for years and it's never been a issue that I grab my own sleeves. No one's ever told me not too and I'm not really sure why they weren't put on my drinks in the first place. There's just a kinder way to correct a customer. It's a weekend and they're slammed. I didn't think it would be issue to grab my own drink sleeves. They're were the public can get them anyway so I didn't know it was something I needed to ask for in the first place. If customers aren't suppose to grab them then I suggest just putting sleeves on the drinks to begin with, or possibly moving them away so customers do not think it's ok to...
Read moreStopped by on our route to Chicago for an iced matcha latte & a bite to eat. The decor is super cute and I enjoyed looking at the art while I waited. About 10-12 people were in line ahead of me when I arrived but the line moved pretty quickly so it was only a 10min wait to order and another 4-5min to receive my order.
I was going to try the avocado toast but the I saw it being made while waiting in line— eggs (hard boiled), avocado smashed up, and bacon were on the counter in plastic bins (possibly on ice? I couldn’t see exactly) and the toast was assembled on the counter. Didn’t look too appealing to me so opted to just stick to the matcha. I asked for the ice in a separate cup so my matcha didn’t get watered down while I ate breakfast (elsewhere) and they happily obliged.
The matcha latte was delicious! Nice and cold even w/o the ice. And just as good once I dumped the ice inside.
I stopped by one of the gender neutral bathrooms while waiting for my order and it was very clean, decorated well, but not well stocked. I used up the last tiny bit of toilet paper (literally 4 squares) that were left. Thankfully I had some...
