Year over year this establishment has proven that they are able to bring the community together in a variety of ways. They were once a small vendor business and with just one conversation with Mike you can tell that he has never lost the humble demeanor it takes to be a vendor, and he; along with his wife; keep that passion going with supporting local talent and vendors by orchestrating with another local small business (equally as awesome) and putting together amazing street fairs. These one day events are looked forward to by vendors months in advance, and they are anticipated by spectators the moment they cross social media. The Painted Wraith, the owners (Mike & Stephanie), along with all the other hard workers that have spent long hours planning, working, and orchestrating these time and again have proven that it pays off. The turnout is, for a lack of better phrasing, as big as their amount of passion and that makes it exceptionally welcoming. These events bring out not just creative vendors who feel they can express themselves, but they also bring out eclectic patrons who feel at home. They feel welcome to be themselves. Wether they are LGBTQIA+, Punk, Goth, Furry, Kpop. it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you show up as a fairy and have a friar follow you with a Uke playing your theme song as you walk through the street (yes, seen it, it was beautiful), you can and it will be absolutely accepted. Because you are accepted. Because you are welcome here. You are family here. For this whole day these few blocks beome more then just a safe haven. They become a community. One that will be respected and appreciated for many...
Read moreI loved this store. I truly did. I’ve supported them for years and been happy to see a place supporting local small artists. I cannot in good faith continue to support the painted wraithe. On their social media they’ve posted promotional photos with AI images. If the store truly cared about small local artists or artists in general they would know better than supporting ai. I am disgusted to see that they disabled comments on said post. They are clearly not open to conversation about the harm Ai causes or the artists it affects. I will be taking my business elsewhere, as sad as I am to even have to choose this.
Please do better. Support REAL art and artists, not the machines...
Read moreI assume the folks who waited on us today were the owners of this fantastic little store. Grandma had her heart set on going here for weeks since she ran across the name somewhere in the bowls of the internet, and we are sure glad she did. 4 of us came in today, on our adventure to celebrate my son’s 23rd birthday. We all found something of interest to us. My grandmother has some mobility issues and had no trouble at all maneuvering her walker/wheelchair. Make sure you get some tokens for the fun surprise machine. I do apologize I forgot the fun name it had. Our treasures from that were great. The owners were great and quite friendly. I look forward to filling my punch...
