I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a review or not but, after thinking the last day about it I decided to. I was there this last Sunday 1/26. I came in to watch the Eagles game. I was with a group of friends and we sat in that back room. We were the only ones sitting back there. As the game was just about to start our tv channel got switched to women’s basketball. We all just looked at each other confused. Since no one else was sitting back there, we knew no one else would have requested this change. So we got up and asked the manager if the channel could be switched back. She responded very rudely by slamming her hand on the kitchen door and said “yup” and walked in. We waited awhile and we also asked our waitress if she could turn the channel back. Just as she was leaving our table, that said manager came in with food and I would like to say “slammed it down” on an empty table and said to our waitress, where does this go? It says 1:1 but no one is there. And before our waitress could respond she stormed off. Our waitress appeared very upset by this interaction and picked up the food off the table to go deliver it to the correct table. We all felt so uncomfortable by this interaction that we decided to leave. So someone from my table went to find our waitress for the bill and I guess when she seen them, she thought it was about changing the channel because she asked the manager about it and the manager said, “I’m too busy to worry about changing a channel”. My friend looked at the waitress and said that was okay, we just wanted our check so we could leave. I just felt it was very unprofessional and very unwelcoming. As a paying customer, I should never be told someone is too busy to help. I have patience and understanding and I fully get being busy and maybe forgetting to do something that someone asked, but turning a channel? And then to say in front of the customer you’re too busy to do that simple task for them? I guess I’ll go somewhere else. And it’s sad, because I’m usually at Dr mckays...
Read moreMy family and I went in today for lunch and to watch the MVC championship game. Was not busy, handful of people at the bar and 2 or 3 other tables. We ordered some cheese fries as an appetizer, 3 cheeseburgers and a small order of wings. Waited some time and our burgers were brought out. The waitress dropped those off and gone, so we assumed the remained of our food would follow... It did not. Our waitress clearly had more pressing matters to deal with at the bar, as she was conversing with the guests there most of the time. We had finished our food and waited for a bit when she finally was able to make it back and we were able to let her know about the wings. She stated she would "check on them". Her update was it'd be about 5 minutes. 15 minutes later and they were brought out. She did let us know they would not be on the bill because they forgot them. Saying we are disappointed in the services is a vast understatement. The cheese fries also apparently never existed. With all of that said, sometimes you can forgive a bad service if the food is great. Unfortunately that's not the case here. I am not sure if the burger was not seasoned at all or if it was hidden behind the absolute charred outer edge of the patty. Everything was very forgettable. It's unfortunate to have to write something like this for a local business but the whole experience was so bad, I felt compelled to write this. I'd hope this was a one off thing but appears others have also had the same...
Read moreWe got off work early, checked online for a place serving food after 9:00 pm and DR. McKay’s was listed. We chose our seats and the waitress came over promptly with menus and took our drink order and left before we could say we knew what we wanted to eat. We waited patiently for her to return and noticed she was busy watching videos on her phone and chatting with a guy sitting at the end of the bar. My husband said we will give her another minute and we are leaving . She must have remembered she was a waitress and had patrons because one of them came up to the bar to get a refill, so she got up and we thought she was coming over to us but instead she went and printed receipts for other patrons that she had forgotten about. When she was done she did make her way over to us and we placed our order and hoped that was the end of the terrible service. We noticed that her and the guy both got up from the end of the bar and went outside. Fortunately for the patrons at the table next to us, the bar tender came over to check to see if anyone needed anything. When the waitress came back in from outside, she immediately went to her seat and checked her phone. To say the service was absolutely horrific is definitely true. The food was delicious. Her attention to customer service was reflected in the $2 tip she received. If you’re the owner or manager of this establishment I would think again about keeping Jamie T on staff!!!! I’ve included...
