Country Lace Bridal Shop — Local services in Bloomington

We had a WONDERFUL experience at Country Lace. Patty used such beautiful language toward each of our party members. She actually picked THE dress and it was the most simple process. I’m not a big shopper and don’t care for clothes shopping, in particular. But my bridal gown mattered and I knew that. Patty picked out the most stunning dress after I tried on 2 “ok” dresses and one “heck no” - she said it was perfect for my silhouette. I initially didn’t like it on the hanger but she reminded me that trying it on was key. As she buttoned the back up I could see that THIS was the dress in my reflection. I stepped out to see my friends, daughter and mother in law and along with me, everyone’s eyes filled with tears. It was perfect. While the dress did go a bit above my rough budget, I was able to snag a discount since I was purchasing the dress off the rack! After that short process we were also able to get dresses picked out and ordered for the bridesmaids, flower girls and mother in law all in one short Saturday afternoon. I would highly recommend this locally owned shop for your bridal needs if you want to feel like a million bucks. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I bought a prom dress for my daughter that cost $429. We noticed after we took it home that there was some sort of sticky dark brown glue on the dress. We didn’t notice at the store. We attempted to bring the dress back given the situation. The lady refused to provide a refund and just offered to clean the dress. She then attempted to tell us it was gum. As if we were dishonest and trying to bring back a dress that we damaged. That was not the case. They were however willing to let us a swap the dress for another. My daughter did not like any of the other dresses they had in her size. It is really disappointing that the owner was willing to exchange the dress but not refund our money. It was not our fault they sold us a defective dress! To make matters worse we went to another dress shop to find her a new one M2 in Champaign. We saw the exact same dress for $300! This store has the worst customer service and are ripping customers off by charging almost double for a dress. If anyone is looking for a prom dress I would highly recommend going to M2. We need a dress fast for my cousins wedding and it had to match a color that was hard to find. My mom called out there and when we arrived both ladies were ready to help me. They were beyond friendly and helpful. I have autism and different fabrics bother me. The understood my dilemma. They helped me find the perfect dress. I could have stayed there all day just talking to them. The owner and her assistant were amazing to me and my mom. I just loved it there. They also referred me to an alterations place up the road. They were right about the lady being able to alternate my dress in time for my cousins wedding. Unfortunately this review only lets you give five stars. I'd give them way more than that. They knew what they were talking about and knew what I needed. I can't thank them enough for saving me in my depressing situation.
