Colonel Harland David Sanders, the deceased founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant chain would be very pleased with how the current day version of the 3rd Street KFC restaurant is operated.
For my two visits there was virtually no waiting at the counter to place my order, the food was promptly served (two white pieces of chicken, an order of mashed potatoes and gravy, a nice biscuit--all warm and properly prepared and known as menu item #1). Including a medium sized drink, the price is $7.99, a real lunch time value!
The two crews I interacted with on my two visits seemed to be enjoying serving the customers as well as enjoying working with each other. Lots of smiles, and much kibitzing with the customers.
The restaurant was very clean, including an almost spotless men's room.
I don't know if the Colonel would be too keen on the mysterious Colonel's butter spread or the equally mysterious Colonel's honey sauce. So, I just ate my biscuits naked. Very tasty for prepared and frozen delivered to the restaurant biscuits.
I had given up on KFC but am glad I gave this operation another look see. You might want to give them a lunch...
Read moreTables were dirty when we came in, crew appeared to be short staffed which I understand would make it harder for teams to execute in a quicker, timely manner which I expected. What I did not expect was to wait in line to be told they could not take our order and watch the counter lady walk off to the back. We waited 5 minutes for her to come back and tell us if we were going to be ordering tenders she couldn’t take the order, not that they were out just that it would be a while. Never were we asked if we would mind to wait which I would have been fine with. Never have I been turned away and it was due to a lack of leadership. The manager or captain, whatever she referred herself too was not much of a leader. Was good at yelling from the back and telling people to not take orders but not much else. Wasted 15 minutes here until we walked to Burger King next door and got our food to come back and eat with the rest...
Read moreWe order from this KFC at least 1x a month. Every time they forget something. I even call and tell them to check. They still forget something. This time it was the tenders and dip. Last time it was the apple poppers, time before the plates and silverware, time before that tenders but got sauces. At least they are consistent at forgetting. The food this time was pretty good. Besides the poppers some out of a box of 10 were overcooked. You could tell they were past their holding time. We usually get extra crispy chicken and this time got original recipe. It was juicy and had a good flavor. Just wish I would have gotten all the food I ordered. It has gotten so bad that I have to order extra food. So that everyone has something to eat. Cause I know something will not be sent via delivery. On a good note their chicken sandwiches are always good and the fries...winner! Highly recommend them! Pot pies are...
