If you think malls are only for memories, you clearly haven’t tasted what’s sizzling at La Patrona Authentic Mexican in Bloomington! From humble food truck roots to the very heart of Eastland Mall, Ruby, Raymundo, and Gloria Flores have cooked up a story—and a menu—that you just can't quit.
Atmosphere Walking into Eastland Mall, it’s easy to spot La Patrona: the oasis of flavor in a food court that’s seen busier days. In an era when storefronts blink out and even COVID tried to close the kitchen, La Patrona dug in its heels—and thank goodness for everyone craving real Mexican food!
Drinks Begin with the Pineapple Aghast Frescas. Bright, tropical, and impossibly refreshing, it’s the perfect partner for what’s to come.
Appetizer Don’t miss the Nachos with Chorizo! Scoop after scoop, the thick homemade chips never buckle under fresh, melty cheese and spicy sausage. Every bite is a reminder: this is how nachos were meant to be!
Main Dishes • Birria Taco: The MVP of the menu, these savory, juicy tacos could draw a crowd in any city—lucky for you, they're right here. • Steak Gordita: Stuffed with tender steak, this gem balances texture and taste, making each bite an event. • Chicken Enchiladas: Rolled to perfection, topped in a signature sauce, with black beans, fluffy Mexican rice, and a bonus side of diced potatoes that warm the heart.
The Heartbeat of the Community La Patrona stands tall as the last restaurant in the Eastland Mall food court—a beacon of flavor and resilience. It’s not just about surviving but thriving, serving community with every plate. If you love them, let them know: like, comment, share, and review for a chance to win a gift card! It’s just another way to support this local hero. Drawing ends 10-3-2025

Read moreI remember hearing how good their tacos are from ppl at this point they were a taco truck that you would just have to catch. I just so happen to get a hold of some tacos once when they happened to be parked in a lot by AutoZone and the taste of these tacos stay with you. They are now located in Eastland Mall which is a bit of a trip for me but I was so happy to visit and grab tacos when I was out that way. They open up I wanna say at 11 on the weekdays I went on a Friday afternoon and it looks like I wasn't the only one looking for tacos that day as I got there early on accident but it was close to opening time and they were right on it. The cashier was super nice and food took no time at all and was def hot and ready when I received it. I paid about 10 or so for 2 well packed tacos and a can of soda. Perfect for lunch on the go while running errands. Should I be in the area again this would be a recurring stop for me for sure I love my tacos. Also to be noted it was nice that thought the mall is def a bit run down it comparison to its hay days it was nice to not eat in a crowded place but just enough ppl for it to...
Read moreHonestly I heard a lot of good reviews, so this was a major let down for me. Our first issue is that the price on the menus did not match what appeared on the register, and the cashier wasn’t inclined to clue us in. The food was mediocre at best, I ordered the Al Pastot quesadilla and it was.. well, bland and greasy, not inedible tho. I believe this was from the cheese to meat ration lacking, with there simply not being enough cheese for this to be a quesadilla, and the texture was off- chewy in an unpleasant way. The Al Pastor meat itself was the most lackluster Al pastor I’ve had from any local Latin establishment, it lacked flavored and was just .. greasy. Which greasy food can be yummy ! I’d like to taste more then the grease, i believe this could have been helped greatly by the addition of pineapple (as most Al Pastor has) or perhaps even crema.. just something to help cut through the cheese and grease and allow flavors to pop! All together the experience was mediocre at best, .. I think it has good potential! Just needs a little more care...
