Luca Pizza di Roma — Restaurant in Bloomington

Ate there on 11/25/2018 This is the most disgusting imitation Italian food I've ever eaten. Had a calzone and a "stromboli". Both of which they just plucked off a heat plate and happily charged us over $10 each for. I could instantly tell they had been sitting there a LONG time as even though it was hot from the heat plate, the cheese was just a solid block in the middle. My husband is Italian and was really confused because they don't seem to know what a stromboli is. (Which seems really common in this state as most people think it's a sub, but this was somehow worse). The insides were a weird gray color. I got 3 bites into my calzone before my stomach started rejecting it. Worried that they'd been sitting out all night, we just threw them away and ate somewhere else. They also need to clean their soda fountain because you could taste the mold. Disgusting. Worst food in Bloomington. We'll never eat there again. Anyone who has allergies or is immunocompomised shouldn't eat...

The man working there was rude, refused to give me a slice from the fresher pizza. I tried the older slice and it was black as night on the bottom and the cheese was cold on top. He said they were all like that and showed me the bottom of other pieces that were much lighter. I said I would try one of those and he refused to serve me. I set my burnt/cold slice on the counter with one bite out of it and said I guess I want a refund then. No apology given!!! No other items offered, no remorse. Worst service ever! I was polite and said how disappointed I was because I eat Luca at home in Indianapolis and was looking forward to it. He truly could care less. Since this place is located in the food court at the mall, it does not have it's own interior to be rated but the atmosphere is what one would expect of a mall food court.

When I visited here I tried their pepperoni calzone. The calzone tasted okay but the cheese and pepperoni on the inside were sparse. The bread was good though I would have preferred to have a bit more cheese and toppings filling the inside of the calzone. One other downside of my meal is that the calzone was not fresh. When I ordered it, it was simply reheated before being served to me.

I have not tried the pizza or any of the other options on the menu which maybe of a higher quality so take my review with a grain of salt...
