Mediocre Experience at Chipotle Mexican Grill
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ 2/5
During my recent visit to Chipotle Mexican Grill, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Right off the bat, the cleanliness of the establishment was a major concern. Despite being well-staffed, the team seemed stretched thin, struggling to manage the torrent of pickup orders from delivery services like DoorDash and Uber Eats. This unfortunately left no one available to maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the dining area, which was visibly dirty and untidy.
The food, while edible, lacked the vibrant flavors one expects from a Mexican Grill. The dishes were pretty bland and could have benefited significantly from a little more spice or seasoning to make them more enticing. It was a disappointment considering Chipotle’s reputation for flavorful food.
Another point of discomfort was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was almost unbearably hot, which definitely detracted from the dining experience. Comfortable ambient conditions are a basic expectation of any establishment, and unfortunately, Chipotle failed to meet this on my visit.
The last straw was the malfunctioning POS card reader. In today's digital age, a well-functioning card payment system is a fundamental necessity. Fortunately, we had enough cash on hand to cover our meal, but the inconvenience was palpable and could be a major problem for customers preferring to pay with cards.
In summary, this visit to Chipotle Mexican Grill was a letdown. While the staff were doing their best under challenging circumstances, the lack of cleanliness, subpar food, uncomfortable temperature, and card payment issues made for a less than satisfying dining experience. I hope the management takes the necessary steps to address these issues for...
Read moreThey need a better system so they aren’t running out of protein every night. It’s actually absurd. There have been SO many times this Chipotle is mysteriously out of chicken in my 4 years living in Bloomington. And this will be when there is still a full 30 minutes until close. I understand not wanting to make more when it’s like 10 minutes before close, I’ve worked minimum wage jobs before, but come on… Also, this chipotle needs a better way of organizing what they are out of between in person customers and their app. A person should not come into the store and be told they are out of chicken, then be able to go onto the app and order chicken. I’m not usually one to pick on minimum wage food workers, but that’s actually messed up. The person who has been waiting in line for 10 minutes should get priority over a mobile order that HAS NOT EVEN been placed yet. I understand online orders that were placed earlier getting priority. But it makes absolutely zero sense that I can be told you are out of chicken, then order a bowl with chicken 5-7 minutes later, and still receive chicken despite being told you were out 10 minutes prior. I know the chicken was pulled for mobile orders, by WHY are you guys pulling the chicken for mobile orders. Mobile order culture has gotten out of control. How are FUTURE mobile order more important than customers CURRENTLY...
Read moreSo I’ve always loved this location. Nice staff, great food. But ever since the manager (younger white guy with red hair) left this place keeps going downhill. I ate in today and 1, because of Covid they got rid of the trays. But how about helping a customer who got an entree, chips, drink, and a dipping sauce to their seat since you didn’t bag anything? 2, there was an issue with the front door in which it had to be manually closed rather than automatically. So everyone inside was freezing since it was 46 degrees outside. The most annoying thing was the customers were the ones who kept closing the door as the staff obviously didn’t care. Including who i assume was the manager who came out and took a picture of it and then never came back out. The person bringing the food out for pickups would look at the door and never close it. As a former restaurant manager I know that it a pain, but it’s your responsibility to make sure these things are taken care of ASAP. Even if that means putting an employee at the door. Also. I started out as a 3 star review. I went to one because in the time I wrote this there were two occasions where no one closed the door, I timed it. One was 1:40 seconds until an employee closed it, soon after it happened again and was 2:40 before an employee closed...
