Not sure what has happened to this place but the service is going downhill horribly. We have eaten here several times and every time it has been exceptional. However this Sunday afternoon we stopped in to have a late lunch and it appeared there was no control of the staff. We were seated quickly but then it went downhill. I don't believe it was the individual wait staff's fault as much as perhaps the manager on duty. We waited for an extraordinarily long time before I finally spoke up and asked the manager if everybody was on break? He responded no but he could take care of us. I asked him to tell me who was supposed to be taking care of us because I honestly just wanted them to do their job not for him to have to do it for them. He insisted on taking our order and I insisted on having the wait staff take our order like they were supposed to. He finally conceited in want to find our waitress. When she showed up she made an excuse that she was making coffee. That's fine except for there were like six other staff standing around talking and doing not much else. When I asked how the pazole was served I was met with confusion. The employee said that she thought it came with onions and something else. When I asked of it by chance came with shredded lettuce or cabbage and radishes maybe some lime? She said she didn't think so. So, it appears that maybe she was new or perhaps the management is not training the wait staff to know what their menu includes. Anyway, this place is normally excellent but this experience was not so great. Hopefully it goes back to the standard it has been since opening. If it were simply one thing that went on I wouldn't be writing this review. The fact that I witnessed multiple week staffling against the counters talking with each other while customers went unattended in the fact that the manager decided to try to do their job for them instead of getting them to work tells me that there...
Read moreI was so disappointed because I have been seeing such amazing reviews, but my experience was just awful.
The hostess didn't seem to know what she was doing and she didn't seem to understand English. I felt bad because she had to get someone else to help her.
The lady who came to take our order just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The whole time we were there she checked on us once.
I ordered the birria melt and fries. I was so excited and was let down big time. It came on wheat bread which looked smushed. The birria was supposed to come with onions, Monterey Jack cheese and the broth. The thing I got was just a sad looking sandwich. No onions, looked like a kraft singles(wasn't even melted) and no broth. The only thing that made my meal were the fries! Those were delicious.
My partner got the strawberry and banana pancakes. There was absolutely nothing special about them. It's something I could have made at home. This meal came with three pancakes, strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and powered sugar. We got strawberries that had the stem still attached, no powdered sugar, and no whipped cream. The amount of syrup we received was for maybe half of one pancake. He didn't even want to continue eating them. They were bland.
This whole experience was just a big let down. I was really excited and I was excited to do something special...
Read moreI’ve visited Vavencia twice for breakfast, and both experiences left a lasting impression. The first time, I tried their breakfast burrito, packed with a hearty mix of eggs, house potatoes, cheddar cheese, and a generous helping of sausage, ham, and bacon, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. The combination was rich and satisfying, and the portion size was more than enough to fill me up for the day.
On my second visit, I opted for their hangover burrito, which didn’t disappoint either. This burrito featured steak, eggs, hash browns, and cheddar cheese, wrapped in another fluffy flour tortilla and topped with a savory sausage gravy. The flavors were indulgent and comforting—a perfect start to the morning.
While Vavencia is a bit on the pricey side, the portions are huge, and the quality of the food makes it worth the splurge. The staff are consistently generous and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated, making it a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a meal.
Overall, Vavencia’s breakfast offerings have made it a go-to spot for me when I’m craving something filling and delicious. Highly recommended for those who don’t mind spending a bit more for quality...
