On Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at around 7 PM my Mother and I arrived. This was to be her 90th Birthday dinner so we both went for the best steaks, two filet tenderloins. I begin with the server, a dark haired woman of about 45 years who was grim and unfrlendly at best; you know, the kind of person who emits an attitude that makes you feel that you've done something wrong although we did nothing at all. In fact we kept trying to bolster her foul mood, as if that was our job. The steaks arrived. One was cooked medium when ordered medium rare while the other was rare when ordered medium well. So we sent one plate back. 15 minutes later, after I had finished my overcooked steak and dinner, my Mom's steak arrived. I was finished; she was just beginning. Uncomfortable. So her 2nd steak arrived. It wasn't a freshly, correctly cooked replacement. It was the same $20. steak THAT CAME OUT THE FIRST TIME BUT THIS time it was over-cooked: dry and extremely well done, as if a vengence was upon it. We were heart-broken. Given the server's depressing attitude, the sloppy, unskilled cook and just the general unhappy experience we were having, we couldn't wait to leave and so left with the way of no resistance, no complaints (who wants to start up a stressful confrontation on a Mom's 90th Birthday party?), foregoing the planned Birthday dessert. Oh, I should add that the server finally said at the last moment, "The kitchen has a new cook in training, sorry". We couldn't leave fast enough. This was our first and last experience with Longhorn. It was a terrible disappointment for my Mom's 90th! Very, very sad. I'd like to hear from the manager on this. I'm sure the server will remember the fiasco. So what do you say, do you think a restaurant specializing in steaks, a so-called "Steakhouse", serving up it's best steak, should cook it right, and when cooked wrong, replace it with a fresh, correctly cooked one? Is this not the very meaning of a proper...
Read moreNights where my husband and I can get out are few and far between. We are full time caregivers for my FIL so the chance we get to even leave our home are rare. We went out tonight and hoped to have a nice dinner for just the two of us.
I will say, it was the most peaceful dinner we could have possibly had. We weren't interrupted a single time during dinner. In fact, we were completely ignored for 20 minutes after we were first seated (prior to the dinner rush in an almost empty restaurant) before someone came to get our drink order. We waited another 10 for salads and an additional large space of time for our steaks.
The bread was fresh and delicious, as were the salads. Our steaks while well seasoned and with a great crust, were overcooked and dry. We were informed they were out of thr baked potatoes we ordered and the mac and cheese was a fine substitute. My husband and I are bariatric surgery patients and cannot eat a full dinner, so we each had more than half of our food to go. Or would have if any 1 of the 4 people we asked for a to-go box would have brought us one.
Thankfully they had the QR code option to pay because we never got our bill. It pained me to leave $40 worth of steak on the table to be trashed but our time to be out had long passed after well over an hour of being there. I did manage to tell someone that we paid before leaving as the dinner rush poured in.
While I don't regret the time and money spent as I did enjoy the time with my husband, we...
Read moreI would like to share my experience with this establishment. I cannot recommend this restaurant,I've been a customer twice now and had bad experience both times. In the first visit was a company dinner and I ordered their biggest thickest most expensive steak and it was cooked to perfection except for the large piece of plastic that was cooked into my steak,my latest experience was worse. On my last visit we had 9 guest so we called ahead was told 45 min wait ok no problem 1 hour and 20 minutes later we were seated, we ordered drinks and appetizers and got our appetizers before our drinks, then when ordering they were stiff with their menu with little to no customization of our entree's simply couldn't get an 8 oz steak with shrimp combo just a 6 oz which is a snack for me. Then when the food was finally served almost an hour after we ordered my wife ordered chopped steak and the bottom was literally burnt to a crisp unedible period my dog wouldn't even eat it seriously then my son ordered a medium rare steak and got it almost raw . Overall was a horrible night that cost me close to 200.00 and still had to stop and get my wife some thing edible thanks Wendy's she loved the baconator combo. The only way I return is if they offer us a free meal to try to show us they can make up for both horrible experiences but I won't spend another dime with longhorn and recommend O Charlie's I've never had a bad experience there and the prices...
