Although El Manzanillo has 3 locations, you would think they would bend over backwards at their new location to receive great reviews. However our first experience was sub par. We arrived between lunch and dinner busy times (4 pm). I wanted to try their buffet, although it looked old, dry, and not updated. I asked a waitress if they would update the buffet. They agreed they would, and immediately set out to do so. However they only re-supplied a few of the items and quit. By then I had already committed to the buffet due to their enthusiasm. It soon became apparent they had no desire to continue updating or replenishing the buffet. I was so annoyed, I even asked if they were going to update some of the obvious empty and dirty containers. El Manzanillo’s manager was sitting in the corner eating, and didn’t care. I asked the female waitress, and her response was, “NO, it’s not time; and we’re probably out of those items.” What food they did replenish was good. If they were out, they are almost next door to a grocery store, and really had no excuse. Some of the empty containers in the buffet could have been replenished, because the exact same items were coming out of the kitchen when menu items had been ordered. Sad. With this type of customer service and attitude they may struggle due to other established Mexican eateries in the area (who serve alcohol). This location also does not serve alcohol. And they provide no Sr....
Read moreBeen coming here for a few months and while the food is normally pretty good something is weird about the pricing.
If we order one meal and split it (there’s a meal that’s 2 quesadillas) with a side of rice, margarita for him, and soda for me it’s about $45-50 each time. They give you the receipts in written form and pay up front so there isn’t an itemised receipt. I’ve pointed out how that math isn’t right when I add the price from the menu (with tax) to what we’re told when we are paying up front - so we decided to test it out.
So one of us would go alone and order the EXACT same thing and the price would be $30.
Tonight we went and got queso, two separate meals, a side of rice, and two other a la carte items, margarita, and a soda. And ended up being $52.
So it’s the same price for 3x more food. It makes me question if they are charging extra when we share a plate as 2 meals or just making up the price as they go?
I get it’s a small town and a small business. I also understand it’s expensive to eat out. I don’t have an issue paying to go to a restaurant- I just don’t agree with the prices being changed/overcharged...
Read moreI am highly disappointed in this restaurant we used to come to this restaurant twice a week for months. We come 20 minutes before close. We did not want to sit down if they’re fixing to close but they said it was fine so we sat down and ordered very quickly because we already knew what we wanted because we love the restaurant. However, we got served our drinks and everything was fine. We were the last table to be served in the restaurant. Our waitress is standing by the host stand counting her money. She goes and runs to get our food. Our food is cold to the touch. I ask her to reheat all our meals very politely and then she proceeds to tell me that I will throw it in the microwave. The manager comes over a minute later to ask if everything‘s fine I tell him our food was cold and I tell him that she said that she was going to microwave it and I asked if that was correct. He said oh no, of course not we get our food back Two minutes later our food is still cold. Very disappointed used to be the best restaurant in Blue Ridge but not even close anymore do not come to this restaurant if you want to be...
