OKI MOCHI — Restaurant in Blue Springs

I'm sorry I couldn't get pictures. I absolutely love this place and have become a regular. I understand some think it's overpriced, but think of what you're paying for. These aren't regular American donuts, thank goodness. I bought a baker's dozen to share with my students and some staff and they absolutely loved them. They're made to be shareable. You can buy one of each and everybody would be able to try a little bit of everything. My favorites are the glazed and the maple. But my weakness is the Thai Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba. I try to get one once a week if possible. I've tried other places and I just really didn't like it as much. Oki Mochi's had a lighter and fresher flavor. And now if you sign up you get points for every dollar spent! I'm saving mine to buy another dozen at the end of the school year for my students and some...

This place is a true hidden gem. They only serve pastries and drinks, so I highly recommend stopping by here after having lunch at any of the nice restaurants on 7 highway.

The woman who helped us at the counter was very nice and didn't rush us while we were looking at the menu and asking questions. The boba tea is delicious (although I recommend asking for less ice), and if you're a sweets lover, you have to try their mochi donuts at least once. They're so light and soft. They also lasted a day on our counter without getting stale, when we got a couple more than we could finish. The two I got:

Strawberry: very reminiscent of those strawberry crumble/strawberry shortcake ice cream bars. Matcha: These have a mild green tea flavor, in a pleasant, buttery coating.
