I came to this humble establishment approximately 48 hours ago with nothing but an empty belly, a recommendation from a loved one, and hope in my heart. As I entered this quaint perveyor of sandwiches I was greeted with a warm smile and a pleasant demeanor followed by the intoxicating aroma of one of the greatest of culinary treats that is the fresh baked bread. I thought to myself, "could this be the promised Land of sandwiches mine loins have yearned for?". I stifled such thoughts as to not judge before having tasted their delectable product. Well ladies and gentlemen without droning on for too long of the sandwich sirens within this mythical establishment I will say two things 1. The joy I experienced consuming the art they crafted is unparalleled in my current sandwich consuming career and 2. When they make a suggestion...
Read moreAfter stopping at the Bee Town Meadery, we went to Alvin Ord's sandwich shop next door. This place reminded me of a good deli in New York City or Northern Jersey as the sandwiches are huge besides being tasty. You can see we got a Reuben and the corned beef is piled on and piled on again. They didn't have rye bread, they had a type of French bread in their offerings. We took the rest home for the next day. I was concerned the bread would get soggy, but this was not the case as it was still just as tasting the next day. I know we'll be back at the Meadery so I can guarantee we'll be back grabbing a different sandwich at...
Read moreMy rating is 3.5, rounded up to 4 for fast service & being pet-friendly.
I ordered the Rachel and the sandwich was 75% sauerkraut, 15% cheese and 10% turkey. LoL Wasn't bad, just not anything particularly special or flavorful. Also got a chocolate chunk cookie which was hard as a brick and dry. Tried a brownie instead and that was soft and chewy. Had to pay extra for a pickle (all sides and toppings are extra). My companion had a roast beef sandwich and was satisfied, but said it wasn't anything to write home about.
Not sure I'd want to come back and spend $15 for small sandwich, drink, chips & cookie again unless the food was better. But the service was quick and they do have an enclosed porch space for pets with water...
