if you are looking for a place to relax and have a nice. quiet night in old town bluffton, don’t come here. The staff is hostile, abrasive, and the owner and his family are no better.
Honestly really disappointed in this whole experience. Chose this place to take my parents, aunt and uncle to dinner. I rarely get time off because of my profession and thought it would be nice to have them all together. We sat outside where our waitress first off listed many menu items that weren’t available. we were completely fine with this and continued our conversation. drinks took 20 minutes to come out, appetizers took 45 min and the food took over an hour. we didn’t mind as we were socializing and making the best of our time together.
as our food was being brought out, the sky opened up and it started pouring on us. we asked to be moved inside where we were met with a rapid rejection. Myself and my family then had to move our table ourselves to try and eat our food without it getting wet. we ended up standing to eat our food. My order was messed up and they completely forgot to bring out my uncles. After we were all done eating, my uncles meal was brought out 15 minutes later.
I went inside to ask if our waitress could remove the two items from the menu as the service had been disappointing. I was met with excuses, but i just tried to fix the situation myself as i wanted to have a nice evening. My mother went inside to use the restroom and was met with the owner’s son who tried to start an argument with her. The entire wait staff started arguing with her and my aunt went inside to try and diffuse the situation to just get us out of here as we wanted to just go home. After another 15 min in the rain, my father and uncle went inside to get the bill.
After the waitress told me the items were going to be removed and a discount was going to be applied, they were presented with the bill in full amount. My father calmly asked to have the items removed as stated. The hostess came over and tried to argue with them yet again. We decided to pay the bill as it was just so we could leave this hostile environment.
As we were walking out, the waitress chased after us to tell us that our tip was “shitty” considering she gave us “good service”— a statement that was far from the truth.
i was mortified that i even picked this restaurant and chose to spend any of our money in...
Read moreI've been here many times as I'm a local. Last night was the worst customer experience as waiter Michael needs to change his attitude. I was not drinking and was with a party of 5 others who were drinking. We all ordered dinner. I had Mahi sandwich which was good. First thing michael did that set me off--I arrived with my fiend to meet the others. When he finally came over he took her order. Walked away. Ok I was across the table...I had to go get him so I could place order. He was a bit snarky when I said I wanted to place my order. He also had no idea what was on the menu as I had questions about the 'greens' with sandwich as I did not have menu in front of me. He asked what side and I asked what are they but also said I usually get potatoes and he just rushed and entered. I just went with it at that point. I ordered an ice tea and water.
Eventually got the tea. No water
He never came to check on us after food delivered. I had to go get my own salt and pepper as didn't want food to get cold.
I ordered refills on my sweet tea and at 9pm he stated restaurant was out of tea. I asked if I could get a soda since no more tea.
He charged me for two teas and a coke. I approached him and asked why multiple iced tea. He stated 'well you actually had four and i didnt charge you.' I questioned if there was a change for refills as I've never been charged before. He then in his sparky tone said he's never heard of ANY RESTAURANT OFFERING FREE REFILLS ON ICED TEA AND I WAS 'drinking all night' (got there at 8ish for Muddy Creek and was about 10). There was a waitress behind him. He asked. She said YES to refills. Then I asked him about coke at that point as it's not my fault he ran out of tea and again THE SNARKYINESS!!!
After living here for 30 years I probably will not come back and let others know how customers are treated.
Maybe short handed but the attitude of this guy was not...
Read moreWe went to several restaurants while on our anniversary trip to Hilton Head. This was our last one and by far our worst experience. Please read about the cook below. It’s very important. If you choose to sit inside it’s more of a bar than a restaurant. My wife and I sat inside due to the colder than normal weather. The bar was packed and several patrons that had already had a lot to drink and were extremely loud. It was discouraging but not the end of the world. The food was good but we didn’t think the burgers were worth the higher than normal prices. Our waitress was average and when she brought us change back from our Bill, she didn’t bother to break it up into lower bills. This would have resulted in her getting a 25% tip. Thankfully we had smaller bills and tipped her accordingly. The worst part of this whole experience was the cook. You can see directly into the kitchen where we sat. THE COOK WAS EATING AN APPLE WHILE COOKING THE FOOD. HE HELD A HALF EATEN APPLE IN HIS LEFT HAND ALONG WITH THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF A BUN. I WATCHED HIM PUT SOME KIND OF CONDIMENT ON THE BUN WHILE IT WAS TOUCHING THE APPLE. HE PROCEEDEDTO EAT THE APPLE AND COOK EVERYBODY’S FOOD FOR ABOUT 8-10 MINUTES. This was absolutely disgusting and I’m sure violates several health codes. He didn’t even have gloves on while eating it. Worst restaurant experience we’ve had in a long time.it’s unfortunate because several locals told us this was the best...
