First of all, it was 30 minutes before closing and the lady informed us that it would be made to go and they were closing in 30 minutes. Never mind that there were people still eating from the buffet and they were still sitting there when we left. Took until after the place closed to get my order. The pizza burger was horrible, no butter on the bread and the bread was hard and tasteless. The meat was dried out and had no flavor. The sauce was basically just tomato paste, no seasoning. It was supposed to have mozzarella cheese on it, but only a tiny bit was detectable when I opened the sandwich. The spaghetti with meat sauce was also terrible. Overcooked noodles with the same tomato paste sauce…..and where’s the meat?! The pizza was obviously a ready made frozen thin crust with very little pepperoni and only decent at best. It looked like a frozen Tombstone pizza from the grocery store. I will say that the garlic bread which came with the terrible spaghetti dinner was good. The loose 10 potato chips and dill pickle spear that were thrown in with the pizza burger was a pathetic attempt at calling it a meal. I’ve always loved Pasquale’s, but I’ll never go to the Boaz franchise again. The place looked run down, and the people behind the counter were loudly gossiping the entire time that my children and I waited on our food. I will give the man who was cleaning and getting things ready to close a big thumbs up, he was the only courteous one, and he worked the entire we were waiting while the others stood around waiting on the oven timer. I do not recommend...
Read moreReminds me of my youth. As a child in Birmingham we had Pasquales all over town. Great sandwiches, pizza and salad. Now we find this lost gem in Boaz, Alabama. Place was busy when we went yesterday. But we ordered in two minutes or less. I got a whole HOAGIE, (ONE OF TWO BEST SANDWICHES IN THECWORLD), half a Stromboli Steak and a side salad. Ashley got the chicken Alfredo with garlic bread. Jess got the spaghetti with meat balls. We stole liberally from each other. Pasquales food is great but the food doesnt come quickly. Everything is cooked to order. This is NOT fast food. This is great dining.
The sandwiches were, as always, too hot to eat. While eating my salad I had the tops of the sandwiches off so the meat and sauce could cool. The sauce on the hoagie was rich and full flavored. The meat was hardy and plentiful. The cheese was too hot and stringy. It burns the roof of my mouth just so.....
The stromboli was too hot too. The mushroom brown gravy was steamy and flavorful. It is always this good. It was good stopped up in garlic bread. The salad was crisp with firm mushrooms, delicious white onions, fresh beautiful red and tasty tomatoes with a good dressing. I had none of the peppers. Our visit to Pasquales was just as it was the last three or ten times we have eaten there. The food is predictable just as it should be. Same glorious every visit for 55 years. We will be back...
Read moreAs much as I hate to write this review bc Pasquale's used to be so good (been around since 1967) .. Don't waste your money or time. We had the buffet on no meat lettuce salad and old pizza another person with me asked if they could cook something fresh for the buffet and we we're both praying it would taste better and maybe the pizza (and desert) just wasn't good cold... yeah the fresh floppy pizza with no taste - to an off taste idk idk I think school food was better , hospital pizza is better even . The pasta was plain eh no seasoning... I'm a big believer in not wasting food but I threw it all away including the garlic bread ,which was the only good food. until the single hair hanging off my second piece was noticed. But that does happen some times I know. Still, over all it was THE WORST Italian food I've ever tried to eat and right up there with the top worst meals ever of any kind. My kids could have done way better , and they don't even cook. Like I said it broke my heart, made me hangry, and I felt like I was tricked by my memory of a pretty good meal years ago. Those days are GONE...
