My first visit here and the girl behind the counter had such a negative attitude. She was unwelcoming and immediately as I was beginning to place my order. She was telling me that they are closing, and she would be mopping the floors? I was like what? Who closes their restaurant at 8pm on a Friday night?
I noticed two couple's sitting and finishing their meals and there was another guy waiting for his order to go.
I sit down and starting to enjoy my beverage, when this family of 6 or 7 came in and they walk up to the girl at the counter and she lets them know that they are closing, and she asks them if they don't mind to place their order to go? They were nodding there head, ahh "No" we are sitting down at the big table, biatch! This ruined her mood even more, she definitely gets zero stars for her negative attitude. I could tell this family of 7 had been there before and they stayed and ordered huge, good for them.
The food is amazing here, I would definitely recommend coming here for the food it's ten (10) stars, it's Colombian cuisine I believe, just ignore the girl at the counter. Your not coming here to see her, you are just here for the comfort food. That couple I saw when I came in, finished their meal before me and paid at the counter, as they were walking out I could hear the guy say to his girl "that woman at the counter is in a bad mood." He's right she was letting all of us know it that they close at 8pm. But, thank god that family of 7 stayed beyond 8pm, it ruined princess at...
Read moreThis place is great if you’re looking for some authentic Venezuelan food. Everything is fresh, made to order and on point. I tried quite a few different dishes and actually loved them all. The Tostones con salsa de ajo was a great little app and the garlic sauce that comes with it was amazing. I also tried 3 different empanadas and I highly recommend the ground beef one. It is on another level. The arepas and cachapas are also out of this world. I had the La Pelua arepa which has shredded beef and cheese. It was probably the best arepa I have ever had. It is simple but also packed with flavor. I would order this over and over again. The Cachapas are huge so make sure you are hungry. I tried the Cachapa Llanera which is a churrasco steak and it was amazing. Don’t forget to try the Papelon con limon/ Parchita. These drinks are very refreshing and taste so good. There is also a little market inside here with things you can only buy in Venezuela and it is really cool. They also have a little frozen food section so you can bring your favorite food home and cook whenever you would like. This is definitely a place worth giving a try. I’m really happy...
Read moreSo this location of Dona Arepa is relatively new and I wish them well. Not only was I greeted in a very friendly manner, but when I told the woman it was my first time there, she came over to my table and sat with me, going over the menu and directing my order, WOW!, that’s customer service. She also gave me a complimentary slice of their Venezuelan Christmas bread, a sweet bread stuffed with ham and cheese, very tasty and very nice! I ended up choosing the La Echona, which is shredded chicken, cheese, Avacado and tomato. It was very good and very filling. They also had 3 homemade sauces, from a garlic mayo, to a mild hot, to a hot, hot sauce, nice touch. The passion they have for their food is evident in everything they do and you can’t help but want to be part of that energy. If you are in the area, give it a try as my experience with one item was one that will...
