The service in this location left me shocked...... Me and a small group of friends declined to have a birthday dinner in this location. We made reservations at 9:30 but When we arrived our table was still not ready and we were told to wait. Totally understandable. The nightmare began when we were seated.... RJ was our waiter and he offered us the menu and informed us that the kitchen was closing shortly. We ordered three burgers to make it quick. As well as three waters with lemon. The waiter brought our water without the lemons.... no biggie we asked a waiter nearby to if we could get some lemon. He was sweetheart and assisted us. Our food came shortly after and as soon as our plates were on our hands it’s like the clock started clicking for our waiter. This is where I honestly just wanted to get up and leave. We just began to eat and he starts pacing back and forth and stares at our food. He did this for 10 minutes straight. We were seated at a both where there wooden rails at our table and he decides it’s a great idea to stare at us from there. The wooden rail is literally above my head.... that’s how close he was to me. My friends and I were terribly uncomfortable and bothered. One of my friends stares at him so he could get the idea of we are uncomfortable but all he does is stare back. We decided okay we need to leave with one bite in our burger and ask for to go plates. As we pack our food he stands by to grab the plates. I had to totally forgot I informed them it was my friends birthday so they would surprise her with a dessert. He brings it out and asks how we would like to split the checks. Excuse me like we just started grabbed our deserts let us enjoy. I was just gazing at the other waiter that assisted us early because his service was nothing compared to our waiter. We told him how we were splitting it. My friend was courteous enough to leave him a tip however I decided I wasn’t going to tip him because the service was terrible. He opens the tab to see the tip amount and goes off..... (excuse me I’m a customerrrr....hellooooo). His words exactly “I guess to don’t see the gratitude but my service was trash right” and repeatedly shakes the bill and mugs me a face. I was speechless and he just walks away. I’m sitting down like wait what just happened. I felt disrespected to the point I just wanted to cry. I informed the manager what just happened and all he says is I’m sorry next time you come inform us to make sure everything goes right. He didn’t say anything about I’ll speak to him or we apologize on his behalf not even a acknowledgement of what he had done was incredibly wrong. The manager and him go to the back and he comes out smiling at me. Not sure if it was discrimination or not but stay away from this restaurant. Chick-fil-A service is better then this. And no I don’t want a...
Read moreTLDR; First and last time dining at Morton’s The Steakhouse-Boca location. Mediocre main course accompanied by unapologetically asinine customer service. Don’t believe the hype. Save your time and money, go to Capital Grille or Abe & Louie’s instead for a better experience
I rarely leave reviews but i felt it was imperative that people know to not have any decent expectations for Morton’s Steakhouse. My mother and I arrived ten minutes prior to our 7pm reservation time on thanksgiving night which was understandably busy. However, being seated for over an hour after we arrived was already a troubling sign of their reservation management. The majority of the welcome staff including the manager were likely desensitized to the rush and didn’t seem to care at all or apologize to anyone waiting an exorbitant amount of time to dine, even being able to find the time and crack jokes with each other in front of frustrated customers. Our waitress was also inattentive the entire night by just doing the bare minimum which also neither here nor there since there were signs of burnout from a long night. I can look past bad customer service if the food is exceptional but that wasn’t the case. I ordered the Cajun Ribeye Steak medium well and it came over done and dry. Additionally the lobster mac and cheese was average with the lobster being flavorful but scarce and the mac and cheese bland in taste. My mother ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner which she also said lacked any depth of flavor. Restaurant managers normally check on their patrons to apologize for the wait or at least ensure that people are enjoying their meals, but it felt like we barely existed on all accounts. Regardless of the influx of customers on a holiday, a restaurant that claims to provide an upscale fine-dining experience should have management capabilities and customer service to adjust and reflect that claim, as opposed to an inattentive, inconsiderate, bland, overpriced experience. At least the pumpkin cheesecake was very good which was this restaurant’s only saving...
Read moreHeld my dad’s 60th birthday dinner @ this location over the weekend & there’s a few things to relay to anyone looking to host an event here- Make sure if you need to decorate you get info on how that works. I had an email thread going with Clancy, the event coordinator, up until Saturday & on Saturday when I emailed her that I’d like to go to the restaurant early to decorate I didn’t hear back. I called her direct line from her email signature and texted it as well and still have not heard back… Fortunately when I called the main line, a very kind woman named Monica answered and ensured that we could come and decorate early. Upom our arrival a very helpful young man named Matt allowed our entry and helped us with a few things. Thank you both!
Doing an event this large, we had to choose a menu- We chose a menu with specific items that were selected for the dinner & one of the accompaniments was actually never even served- Though there was plenty of food and the steaks were cooked quite perfectly.
Lastly, two espresso martini drinks were spilled on one of my guests to the point where she had to go home and change because her clothes were soaked. The waiter was extremely apologetic about this, and we have absolutely no hard feelings as he cleaned up the mess thoroughly and brought out fresh drinks. However, the young girl by the name of Morgan should be aware that when someone at the table politely asks her to add a lobster tail to the woman’s dinner (who had to leave to go home and change) that she should not roll her eyes at her husband in front of a party that big & shake her head and walk away. That was extremely unprofessional.
All in all, I would host a party at this location again as they were extremely tentative when it came to keeping up with all of the little things people kept ordering on the side as well as drinks & allowed us to stay past our...
