I was informed by a co-worker to try this place out because I'm all ways looking for a great beef sandwich. They forgot to put my cheese on my beef and my husband's beef as well which we both love cheese. By the way this the Buona Beef in Bolingbrook off Weber Rd. So I didn't eat my beef and my husband played in his. I called Buona Beef and spoke to a manager name Sara. Sara was really nice and she accommodated me to a credit and an additional $15.00 credit. I went back the next day and Jamie took my order he wasn't pleasant at all when I told him that I had 2 meal combo replacements along with a $15.00 credit. Jamie and another employee started whispering to each other than he said he was going to check the books. I'm waiting patiently for Jamie to return to say you have a $15.00 Cedit. I said yes along with my two meal replacements. Jamie stated that Sara only put a $15.00 credit in the book but he will do the 2 meal replacements this time. Me: okay whatever. He seem to be upset with my credit I had. So, I asked him if he was the manager and he stated no. I asked if Sara was available and he stated no, she's on vacation. Because of Jamie's action in his customer service I maxed my credit out along with my 2 meal replacements. The beef portion was small it had only a little meat I guess because it was a credit. Well to make this simple, when I got home and ate slice of my pizza it had long hair in it as I was eating. I called back and spoke to a Paul (manager). He stated that he would give me a credit and I stated no thank you I won't be back but I wanted to inform you of the hair in my food. I don't understand why the employees who's working in the kitchen are not wearing hairnets. I through all the food in the trash. Please examine your food. Oh by the way Jamie seem to have gotten a little nicer towards...
Read moreGoing to Buona is not convenient for me. I'm equidistant between 2 locations that are each 15 minutes away. But I love Buona food. I really do. I actually do think their Italian beef is the best around. But this is b.s.
I ordered an Italian beef with cheese, a beef and giardiniera pizza, and a cookie. I go through the drive-thru, everything's ready, and I go. As soon as I close my window, my car is enveloped in the stench of onions (still smells today). Now, nothing we ordered has onions but I, foolishly, didn't think too much of it.
I get home and the pizza for my mother is BBQ chicken. So, not even close. It was ordered on the app, and the other two items were right. Mind you, it's been 20 minutes since I left the restaurant and, now, I can't eat because I have to call Buona about the pizza. Which I do, 4 times, trying different extensions because they don't give you a simple option to talk to someone.
I explain the situation to the manager who offers to credit the pizza for a later time or I can come back and get it. Why is it incumbent on me to go over there to correct YOUR mistake? Meanwhile, my sandwich is dead and I can't even get money back for the pizza I had to waste room in my garbage bag for.
Finally, the manager asked if a refund would make me happy and I said yes, knowing that this is the best he could do.
Today, I get an e-mail saying that I'm getting a refund for the amount of the pizza. Great. Still paid $14 to eat a pre-made cookie. Could have just...
Read moreI used to love Buona but was disappointed yesterday. In previous years, when the Cubs score at home in the 6th inning they used to give away a free 7" Italian beef, PERIOD. On TV and the Radio they are still advertising it in the exact same way this year (2019) but when I went in I learned now in order to get the free Italian beef you must purchase a fry AND drink. As someone who carefully watches my calories this now means spending money on these trips to over double my calorie intake. Even if I get a Diet Pepsi (0 Calories) I still go from 233 Calories for my sandwich with peppers to now 537 Calories. Not too mention I'm buying a soda that I might as well drink since I'm paying for it but that's not as healthy either (even if I choose diet). As a result, I will not be doing this deal any longer this year and will probably stop my other regular trips for Thursday pizzas, etc.
In fairness to the restaurant (2 stars instead of 1), the woman who told me at the register was very professional and kind. When I checked the bar code to scan in my app it also did articulate this information in very fine print.
My biggest beef is with the franchise. They changed the deal but are advertising it the exact same. It is no longer a free 7" Italian Beef sandwich when the Cubs score at home in the 6th. Now you must purchase both a fry AND drink in order to get the sandwich. ...
