The Checkers restaurant is pretty similar in style to Rallys, since they're somehow related as corporations, so I knew what to expect as far as food goes when I got there. In fact, they're so similar that the menu is nearly identical, down to the names of some of the burgers. I was pretty excited to get my hands on some of their french fries, which are greasy but absolutely delicious.
The food was exactly as expected. Pretty unhealthy, pretty sloppy, definitely not something to eat every day, but very guilty-pleasure-esque.
That being said, the restaurant was an absolute mess inside. The building is a re-purposed building that used to be a Browns Chicken. There's a pretty large area inside that can be used for seating, but it was clearly an after thought. The chairs and tables were tiny aluminum units that look very out of place. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, with waste smeared on the walls and toilets. The floor was wet and slick all over inside the dining section, with some mud tracked in by customers.
The cashier was rude and impatient, and the rest of the kitchen staff were arguing with each other loudly enough to be heard by all the customers. The outdoor patio is messy and muddy. The patio benches are nearly unusably small, and the adjacent parking lot is a disaster of potholes and poor lighting.
All in all, I won't be going back. I've satisfied my grease craving for the year already. I personally recommend that others avoid this business. If they don't clean up their location, they'll be gone by...
Read moreI have frequently picked up orders at this location for UberEats and the extreme lack of professionalism is just one of the many issues. Almost Everytime while arriving at the order menu in the drive thru I get the greating "Online orders only!" No apologies or friendly hello. This is usually late afternoon to early morning. Some times I have sat at the order menu for 15 minutes waiting for someone to even acknowledge me even after saying hello several times or even honking my horn. On one occasion I was completely ignored and just pulled up to the window and had to knock hard several time on the window. The employees opened the window and YELLED "WHAT?" He said they were understaffed and busy. Well I seen 4 or 5 employees joking and laughing loudly while blaring music, even exchanged a stack of like 6 boxes of shoes across the counter before helping me. So clearly they were not short staffed, just staffed with lazy and incompetent individuals. Tonight they were supposed to be open until 3AM and surprise, surprise they were closed at 1:30AM and had to cancel yet another Checkers order. Corporate only tells you that a report will be forwarded to management and it stops there. No contact, and obviously nothing is being done. We love Checkers, but cannot enjoy it due to this horrible location. My advise is close the doors and either get a new team or leave...
Read moreToday I had my driver go out of the way to come here, because I haven’t had checkers in so long. I walked in, I was the only customer there, said hello to a staff member and she starred at me like I was disturbing her while she was playing on her phone with her AirPods in. Apparently she’s the sandwich maker. Then the cashier came and took my order. I simply asked for a champ burger meal, add bacon, large with a sprite. I also asked for the fries to be fresh. Yes, the fries came out fresh. I had to tell the cashier as she was pouring a coke, that I wanted a sprite. No big deal. But when I received my order, I didn’t check the burger because how hard is it to make a simple burger, especially when I’m the only customer. I get to work, open up my burger and there’s no cheese and no bacon and a whole lot of lettuce. Basically a lettuce burger. I’ve tried calling the restaurant a few times and nobody will answer the phone. It just rings nonstop. Maybe they’re listening to their AirPods. It pisses me off because I had to pay extra for the bacon and I didn’t get it, plus no cheese and way too much lettuce. Also the burger maker was pretty rude or just unhappy with her job. Either way, poor business. And these are the people who want more...
