Panera Bread — Restaurant in Bolingbrook

After Research I've found that across the Panera Bread Empire's Customer Service is spotty and trending towards the toilet. It's sad because this location used to be staffed with very helpful employees and even more helpful Managers. Panera has a TV campaign touting it's revamped Menu with a variety of meals under $10. My wife sees it and decides to purchase 6 Salads for Her Sunday Book Club meeting that afternoon.The associate rings up 6 salads with Chicken @12.99. Wife informs associate that she doesn't want chicken in salad what are the Salads for $10 or less. Associate tells Her the price is the same with or without Chicken.Again Wife asks for salad choices $10 or less. Associate is adamant that the prices of salad are same regardless. Wife points to Menu board behind associate. He is unmoved. She asks for the Manager. A young lady, early 20s comes over and seems to shrink in b the presence of the associate. My wife exhausted and needing to do other things buys the Salads. Lucky for Panera it's Sunday and Chick-fil-A is closed or else She would have walked out and went there. Fast Food workers want $20/hr yet aren't even smarter than a 5th Grader. The public continues to run into Brick and Mortar store associates that are poorly trained, woefully unaware of the stores sales campaigns. The reason we pay thru the nose for Sit-down and fast food restaurants is convenience and GOOD SERVICE. Fast Food Mangers and workers seem not to embrace that they are endangered species....that we can get the ever smaller portions and shoddy service at cheaper prices. It was good while it lasted but that will be our last Panera Bread purchase. They are grouped With McDonald's, Popeyes, White Castle, Subway and a few others on the never patronize again list ever-growing as customer service and food portion and quality are substandard as the prices are...

This place lacks great, or subpar service, overall. I’ve visited this place for about a week now, and the only time I’ve gotten good service was when Kelise, Jacob, Kevin, Olivia, have been there. They really bring the service and Energy. They, alone, deserve 5 stars.

Today, I ordered my usual egg sandwich and coffee. I told the young lady she did a great job yesterday with my sandwich, and thanked her.

I believe the guy made my sandwich today. My eggs had green, red and blackish stuff on it. Upon handing me my food, I said “thank you.”

He said, “have a good day.” No “thank you, and have a good day.” Very dismissive attitude. The dismissiveness made me feel unappreciated as a customer.

Lastly, upon entering today, a worker looked at me for multiple seconds, and he didn’t say anything. A “welcome in. Good morning. Happy Tuesday,” or “someone will be right with you,” etc., all of this would’ve been an appropriate and professional greeting.

Any customer visiting your establishment to spend money, especially on a daily basis like I do, is a privilege. An honor. Customers have options and it’s an honor to be chosen in this highly competitive market. I’m a consumer and entrepreneur and understand every aspect of a business transaction.

Was not greeted by not only 1 but 3 employees when my boyfriend and I walked in and then stood at the register. 1 employee was standing there from the moment we walked in and watched us walk to the register and never said a word. Then 2 other employees, 1 walks to another register and the 2nd walks by the register area and neither says anything! Not only were we NOT spoken to but stood directly in front of these 3 individuals couldn’t even get ACKNOWLEDGED to place an order. My boyfriend and I both looked at eachother and decided not to continue to be disrespected and waste any more time. We arrived around 7:10..7:20pm 3/29/2022. Haven’t been to a Panera in years and I was just reminded why. Will NEVER come to this location again!

Not to say this was racially motivated but myself and boyfriend are BLACK and all 3 working individuals were WHITE. Take this information as you want.
