This little piece of India is a must try! The love that goes into this amazing little cafe is abundant when you walk through the door. The passion put into our culinary experience was so amazing as the staff was warm and welcoming. We were met with the utmost cultural hospitality which was an unexpected experience. Being a new place, we wanted to just try it slowly and order from there. We were delivered complimentary chips kinda like fried pita, served with a mint, cilantro and tofu chutney. Trust me, it was delish â- we loved it so much we tried it on pretty much everything else! We decided to start with a couple of appetizers. The Samosa pastries, are a perfect vegan option. The crust is flaky and deep fried, the diced potatoes perfectly seasoned with spices and peppers. Itâs was served with a lightly sweetened brown curry chutney. To Americanize the description would be between a light bbq/sweet and sour sauce. Put it this way - we didnât even notice it was vegan, because it was so full of flavor. Iâm not vegan, but with this place it would be easy! The second appetizer we ordered was a chicken tender coated in a light chick-pea flourâ OMG game changer! It was keto and gluten free. We used our chutneys, which kicked them up a notch! We shared a mild Chicken Tikka Masala â-amazing with the garlic nan. Iâm getting spicy next time! Served with perfectly steamed Basmati rice lightly seasoned with turmeric and saffron. The food amazing, service amazing and the ambiance while a very tiny place delivered an amazing culinary experience! The menu was a little intimidating, so if youâre a newby like me just ask questions. This place delivers on the amazing authentic Indian culinary fare. If youâve come from Chicagolandâ-This is the Indian food youâve grown up on. Enjoy,...
Read moreAhana's Bombay Grille is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors, and they went above and beyond to cater to my vegan diet, which was a huge plus. From the moment you walk in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a great dining experience. The menu is diverse, offering everything from classic dishes like butter chicken and lamb vindaloo to a variety of vegan-friendly options that were just as flavorful.
I started with the vegetable samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a well-spiced potato filling. For the main course, I opted for the chana masala and a side of vegan-friendly garlic naan. The chana masala had an amazing depth of flavor, and the naan was fresh and softâcomplementing the dish perfectly. The kitchen was more than willing to make adjustments to accommodate my diet, which was refreshing to see.
What really stood out was the service. The staff was incredibly attentive, happy to explain which dishes could be made vegan, and they made me feel comfortable with my choices. It's clear they care about their customers' needs.
If you're looking for a cozy spot with amazing Indian food that can cater to various dietary preferences, Ahana's Bombay Grille is a must-try. Itâs definitely become one of my go-to places for a...
Read moreIf Google allowed me to put zero stars, I would. I am completely disappointed in this restaurant. I ordered one Chicken Tikka Masala, one Lamb Biriyani, and two Chicken Biriyanis, and every one of them was horrible. Every dish felt that it lacked spice and honestly salt too. They had no flavor at all and in my eyes do not deserve to be called Indian cuisine. Not only that, but every dish lacked meat. The biriyanis shouldn't be called "Chicken" or "Lamb" biriyani if you are just going to throw two tiny, tiny pieces of meat into some unseasoned rice. The Chicken Tikka too, lacked chicken, and desperately needed salt. Furthermore, the dishes are way overpriced for the quality of the food. I spent almost 100 dollars. Later, I called the restaurant in hopes of some sort of reimbursement for my poor experience, but the customer service did absolutely nothing. They led me on a wild goose chase when I tried to reach the manager of the restaurant and when I finally managed to speak with her she raised her voice in an awfully rude manner, kept interrupting me, and hung up in the middle of when I was trying to say something. I hope this review prompts the restaurant to improve their food quality and customer service. But until then, I would not at all recommend this...
