My party arrived around 3pm and sat ourselves as the sign requested. After a few minutes we saw our "first" server. She took our drink orders and brought them. I ordered an old fashioned which was nearly clear (odd since the liquor is brown) and tasted horrible, as did my wifes wine. She took the tables order but I was still looking and asked for a minute. She never returned and the food arrived. The food runner asked if we needed anything and I said I still needed to put in my order. He went to find the server, couldn't find her, and he took my order. Shortly after another server arrived to clarify my order. The food runner brought that out after the others had finished their meals. Shortly after, server two returns and asks us to cash out because she wants to go home. We were never checked on, never got refills, and then in a sense told to leave. My friend who was with us said he wasn't even given the chance to order a second beer to the server who quickly added it to the bill and brought it back. She only brought one check and didn't ask if we were splitting. They were lucky I tipped at all after that awful experience. After she grabbed the check from me, server three came over and asked if we wanted to put anything in, but after already paying, I wasn't opening another tab.
I've worked service for 20 years and have never heard of a customer asked to leave because the server wants to go home. We would have spent more money here and had more drinks. She could have transferred our table to the next server. I will never return here.
The food runner in the "Rebel Scum" shirt was the only helpful person. Our server was to busy flirting with the old guys at the bar to help other customers. Train your staff or...
Read moreWas looking for a quick bite for lunch with my girlfriend and ended up going with Lansdowne Street. The inside was nice but we chose to sit on the patio since it wasn't too hot out with all the rain.
We ended up going with the baked brie as an appetizer which was awesome, the raspberry preserves it came with really tied it all together. My girlfriend went with the rueben and enjoyed it, I went with the pulled pork sandwich and it was probably one of the better pulled pork sandwiches I've had in Lee or Collier county, the BBQ sauce it came with wasn't too sweet and had a really nice tang to it and the fries came out crispy and were properly salted to my taste.
They had a solid selection of beers, I went with one Samuel Smith Chocolate stout and a Samuel Smith Oatmeal, both were phenomenal and my girlfriend went with one of the sangria mixed drinks which we both enjoyed.
Overall we would definitely eat here again, staff was nice, and the only thing I feel could have gone better was if the server on the patio had another person to help out, she ran the bar and all the tables solo which had us waiting a little bit to get the check but that's not her fault, she was great and I understand you can only do so much as one person.
If you're in the area and want a quick bite to eat, for a decent price, and a nice atmosphere, then I definitely would recommend you stop in and check it out...
Read moreThis place is big on diner size/style deli sandwiches. They are decent and decently price most of the time. They come with your choice of a side. The smoked wings are a big swing and a miss, leave them. The calamari is often very over cooked but it is a nice portion size when cooked properly. The Chowda is inconsistent even though it tastes like it out of a box. I think it is simply stuff they buy and then fix it up. I've had it both thick and runny and both times it tasted very much the same. Its not bad, it just not really good either. The gyro sandwich is just old school frozen gyro slices served with a too light smattering of tomato and cucumber with tzatziki sauce. The meat slices are just nuked and left in a stack as opposed to grilled to get a little texture and flavor on them. Don't bother with the gyro there. Locstion has a very nice out door seating area and often a decent crowd. As its also bit of a sports a bar, there is a good chance that there is some well lubricated clown that is rude and cursing loud so be cautious of that if you bring kids. Staff works hard...
